More importantly, it's featured. That's where the :blessed: feeling comes from

I feel like a artist who just went Gold(or platinum depending how much weight you put on being featured)

nikka I made it!!

I didn't respect it when the Canadian Jew got exposed for doing it, and I damn sure don't respect it when someone from my city exposes himself for doing it. Your job description is simple. Essentially write your rhymes, perform it, and send it out to the masses for consumption. If you needed someone to ghostwrite one of your 'sellout/crossover' songs, then obviously that either simply isn't your lane to be in, or you're not talented enough yourself to be able to crossover in that lane. There's been records throughout hip-hop history where you can tell & hear an artist having an influence on countless others, but it wasn't ghostwritten. They just took the formula of what said artist did and added their own twist to it.

"It's fun doing it?" :what: I bet seeing as how you're not doing shyt yourself on the record

the difference w/ Drake is that its obvious his whole catalog is made by a team

Exactly. Dudes in here playing dumb. Like I said Drake had writers on a fukking mix tape that came out in '06. This is straight out of Nickelus F. mouth. And he said he wrote at least one whole verse for Drake on "So Far Gone".

This ain't years later, when Drake is already solidified as an artist. This is day 1, Drake is a new artist, damn near a decade before QM. But nah let's throw Twista under the bus to defend Drake.

Fred.

who gives a shyt? only in hip hop do people make such a big deal about having other songwriters.

in every other genre, this would be looked at like :yeshrug:
That's because in other genres it usually requires actual talent other than writing to be an artist, In other genres you may not write your songs but you still need the vocal talent to perform the song or play the instruments that make the beat. :yeshrug:

In rap where most artists don't produce their own beats, or need vocal talent to perform it, you'd at least expect them to write their own shyt. :scusthov: If you ain't doing that then what is there to respect about you. :scust:

:mindblown: But that's one of the main thing that seperated hip hop from every other genre.

And made it better imo.

A chorus ok, a line to give props whatever, but verses and whole songs:scust:

the only fast hard rule to hip hop is no biting, and that technically applies to all art...

the only thing that seperates genres is the way the shyt sounds

So because Twista is a solidified artist and has been in the game for more than a decade, it's ok for him to use ghostwriters? Artists like Jay-z and Nas have been rapping for 20 plus years and they have never used them (although there have been accusations). So what's Twista's excuse? If you're going to condemn one person for using a ghostwriter then you need to condemn every rap artist for using one no matter how many years they been rapping or what they have contributed to rap.

so maybe this is why kanye gets away with having so many "collaborators" since he first came to prominence as a producer.
