Pusha T and Malice can RAP impeccably and the features were amazing but I can't get past the beats, no shade to Pharrell. Alfredo 2 has a better beat selection in my book which adds to its replay value due to Alc's mastery. If LGSEO had Madlib or the Alchemist or even Conductor Williams, I would probably like it more.
I thought the clipse album was one of the most boring albums this year.

Alfredo 2 was cool...beats are solid raps are solid...theres nothing fundamentally bad per say but its not great and I think the issue is that Al needs to start diversifing his beats on these collab albums because the sound has gotten monotonous.

More “Lemon Pepper Steppers” and “Gold Feet” type beats more experimentation.. More tempos more sounds …. Because right now he's getting to that if you heard one Al beat you heard them all status.… which is a shame because he's too good of a producer for that...

If you want to do album comparisons.…forget LGSEO.… compare the Freddie projects produced by AL to the ones Prodcued by Madlib and I think you'll get a much wider range of musicality and risk taking vs the alchemist projects even tho they both have similar distinctions when it comes to production styles... Madlib does what Al and Freddy try to do just more creatively .… is there a song he and Al have done better than Palmolive…and that's AL’s signature style

With LGSEO, when you listen to “Birds don't sing” “Chains and Whips” “So be it” “EBITDA” you're getting a totally different soundscape on each track.…its a more interesting listen its a less boring rehashed sounding album.… I think Fred and Al would benefit from adding more features on their albums as well to bring some life and different lyrical content as well as energy to some of their records…. Fred is a great rapper but can suffer from what I call “run on sentence rhymes” where the shyt just sounds like one long ass rambling story because his flow can get stagnant he doesn't really do a lot of punchlines to emphasize his bars and the shyt can sound like he's just talking to talk

Ultimately both Clipse and Fred dropped solid projects but I think the range of Pharrell vs Al is really exposed on each of these projects

He be giving his heat to unknown rappers or rappers that wider audiences won’t listen to. You seem like you may do deep dives into Al’s music like me.. I like him but it is getting monotonous. I only like Freddy with Al or Madlib though

Alfredo 2 benefits from no gay ass pharell and John legend choruses. Also the whips and chains beat sounds like a car that needs new brakes. Pharells production just sounds mad dated in 2025. A lot of the samples and sounds he used are boring. "so be it" is a perfect example. I see so many people hyping that shyt but the beat is corny as hell to me. shyt sounds like Arab belly dancing music :hhh:

There's really not a single beat on the clipse album that's better than Ensalada. Feeling. Gas station sushi. Lavish habits. A Thousand mountains. Jeane claude.

And this is coming from somebody who's been highly critical of Alchemist over the past few years. But he brought his A game on this one. And gibbs may not be lyrically better than pusha and Malice but his hook game is 100% superior. And he knows how to stay in his lane.

Just depends what you prefer. Lyrically the clipse obviously got it. But musically, Alfredo 2 blows it out of the water. It's just a more enjoyable listen. And that's really all that matters in the end :yeshrug:

Brolic... Alcoholics

Not even close. Let Got Sort Em Out is extremely enjoyable. Alfredo 2 is seamless. One song goes into the be next effortlessly but it's a bit mundane and that's really Gibbs.

Gibbs can RAP RAP. But he doesn't switch up his tones so every song can end up sounding like the last one. Plus according to Jeezy, cuh ain't built like that. He's like the Midwest version of Rick Ross. :heh:

Ya'll need to learn how to enjoy music that isn't made by Alchemist.

Clipse album is a lot more interesting musically than Alfredo 2. My problem with Alchemist these days is too many of the beats are kinda airy and etherial. They lack melody. It kinda just turns into background music. I still like it but what Pharrell is doing is a lot more dynamic and varied.

Bars wise there is no contest. Both Malice and Pusha got several verse of the year contenders on there. Gibbs is spitting too but the Clipse album is like a rap powerhouse performance.

This is how I felt about Al's production coming into this album. His beats got way too monotonous and atmospheric. But he got in his bag on Alfredo 2. Definitely can't agree that these beats lack melody. I don't see how anybody could listen to these beats and say there's no melody here.

Like I'm an AL stan just like most people with good taste are... But the shyt is confusing to me like...every since he started doing these collab albums with more “well known” artist I feel like either he or the artist box him into the “real hiphop” sound and that results in this ambient music ass shyt that sounds like something you'd hear on an elevator.… its like he's been typecasted to only one sound when he’s too dope to be put in that box.… he was always avant garde when he was in his early prime...going left when all the other producers were doing glossy 106 and park music... But its like his shyt has stagnated now and people are doing his style better than him…with the same artist he works with

Like where has HNIC 2 AL gone

THIS is that Alchemist shyt I need

That unorthodox shyt

Where is Cookbook alchemist at? That grimey atmospheric sounding shyt that he perfected.

Like this nikka used to make shyt that sounded spooky.…shyt that played in lucifers layer.… now its like all we get is the “I gave my life to god” Al :russ:

The last time I heard him get wild like this was maybe on that Red Death track but W$G is musicophile who knows that back catalog and could get him in that zone...but we need more of it.
