Caught up on To Be Hero X. As far as my thoughts on it, the animation saves the show so far. The story feels convoluted right now and some things happen just because.

what story? it's just introducing characters and doing world building in the background

Netflix makes the most bizarre situation decisions. Tbh it's prob because they want to release it alongside the English dub.

Watched episode 2 of Lord of Mysteries. This episode was a lot better than episode 1. As episodes 2 focused more on beyonders and I got the scope of decently. Klein being the fool, but also the seer? I guess its two seperate things. Fool is a part of Tarot cards. Which it lists the following as we saw Fool, Justice &

  • 0. The Fool: New beginnings, adventure
  • 11. Justice: Fairness, truth
  • 12. The Hanged Man: Letting go, new perspective
More then likely there should be a reason each of the 3 are given these as their names. But again episode 1 happened so fast it is hard to make anything out of it.

It does seem for Kelin that he is from another world. Of course his goal is to come back to that world. But in this world he has no parents just 2 siblings.

I guess being a beyonder is more important for now? A bit confused why knowing mysticsm is important. It prob has something to do with the stuff in episode 1, but that is over my head.

Very invested in this just hope pacing will be better.
it was alot but i prefer when stuff starts with characters who already know way more than us like this, it helps for that initial immersion into the story IMO

it was lowkey giving me Overlord vibes with how he couldn't figure out who he was exactly so he immediately freestyled that name and how to look cool doing it just to keep the illusion that he was in complete control :russ: shyt's interesting tho, nikka didn't know how to answer Justice's question so he immediately put The Hanged Man on the spot :dead: this is gonna be supreme fukkery if they keep this up with the animation being crazy and the power system

I agree with that. Like the part of him being from another world was subtle. Like it's an important detail, but doesn't need to be stressed for. Feels like we are getting a piece and slowly we will get more. Since this is based on an acclaimed novel, I have faith in it. I will be more concerned if this was original, which it isn't.

This anime with its visuals and animation is beautiful. Hopefully, they got a good OST to rock with it. The sky is the limit because the world building potential in this is fukking insane. As long as the pacing fleshes out better, which I am a bit more confident in with how episode 2 ended.

Honestly, MT world building & overworld story is top-notch. That's a given. But man, the character writing feels much, much worse. Makes me feel like the author wanted to cater this to Light Novel readers by making it more wish fulfillment harem. The fact that there are VOLUMES worth skipping is kinda :francis:

The dynamic of Eris & Rudy was actually great because they both start off awful kids in their own way, of course. Through S1 Eris motivates Rudy & vice versa. I dropped it in the middle of the ED with how it tries to play that arc as more comedic made me uncomfortable. Like the series is 98% of the time in a more serious tone and that arc tried to play things differently. Also the fact Sylphie didn't even question what Rudy did was :dwillhuh:. Well I did hear from readers she is a massive simp who enjoys being cucked :skip:

I think part of me was also the fan base declared this story as Rudy's redemption story. Where now I am hearing its more of his 2nd chance at life basically. Maybe watching it with that expectation would help. I will give the series a swing again when the anime fully adapts the novel, which feels like a given at this point.
Sylphie is a doormat. The whole situation with Roxy was disgusting and she just sat there and took it. Roxy was just happy to be there so Eris was obviously tolerated. Eris is dumb as a box of rocks so she’d tolerate anything. Rudy had to put the breaks on her crazy idea in volume 18 I think to was.

The Emerald Witch arc for Black Butler was so fukking good. :wow: Although we didn't get too much on what Undertaker was going for and the recaps felt annoying. The writing & twists were so good. I am truly interested to see the impact Sullivan will have on the group. Also, the big mystery of what the Queen is planning.

I was surprised we got the post credit scene. Would love to get more Black Butler. I did hear the manga is approaching the final arc, I believe. So would try to get to reading the manga soon.

I thought the episode of Apothecary Dairies was the finale because it really gave me a finale feel. It was interesting to see the similarities between Loulan and Maomao dancing near the end of the respective seasons. I find it interesting how the show uses dancing because each dance they've shown so far tapped into different emotions.

I just love how rewarding this show is because the payoff for what we've learned so far was well wroth it with what happened last season. Also so many tragic characters this season because it makes you feel for most except for one

Kowloon Generic had a satisfactory ending :blessed: the 90's nostalgia went all the way till the finish with the abstract stuff tackling very real, personal/mental issues :wow:

I wonder how different the manga ending will be @tripleaamin because it can certainly go in other directions compared to the anime.

There being no fan translations hurts :mjcry: since it isn't a simulpubbed manga.

There is also a live action adaptation too. You might enjoy it. Will prob watch the anime & live action whenever the manga ends, and I can get to it.

I don't think I'll ever watch a live action adaptation, they are just cringe to me lol.

I found out there's only fansubs in spanish and I was :leon:
