skilled trades are like that sparky...the more time in service and promotions the less physical you become. intermittent fasting was a great choice I made years ago.

alcohol is the only threat as far as my discipline goes. the older I get the more I appreciate that drank :wow:

we aint ever getting that bloated face or gut tho
I walk WAAAAAAY more since I started moving up. Maybe not as much lifting shyt, but walking much much more.

Metabolism slows down with age.

I'm going through this now. In my 20s I could hit the gym and cut back on most of the bad foods I like and I'd lose 10 - 15 lbs. in about 6 weeks. Now in my mid 40s I *might* lose 5 lbs. doing that. So to lose that same amount I have to lowkey starve myself - almost zero processed sugars and 1300 -1500 daily calories max, plus I have to lift 4 times a week and do cardio at least 3 days per week (those days can overlap). I used to only have to lift 3 days a week I never used to have to do any cardio.

Coli breh: 'I'm 65 and I just started working out and I'm built like Arnold in his prime, you must be fatherless :hhh:'

Look how many athletes look after they retire and in their 40s and 50s

BECAUSE THEY ALWAYS
HAD shyt DIETS AND
BAD DRINKING HABITS WHILE
THEY WERE PLAYING.

THEY WERE JUST BURNING
SO MANY CALORIES PER DAY
IT DIDNT MATTER.

NOW THAT THEYRE SITTING
ON THEIR ASS DOING NOTHING
THOSE BAD CALORIES ARENT
GETTING BURNED ANYMORE.

Laziness doesn't cut it. You can take an out of shape 20 year old, and an out of shape 40 year old and the former will always lose weight easier under the same diet plan and training regimen with a good trainer.

I'm not buying this study saying metabolism slow down is a myth, not in entirety, just to try and clown invisible people for "being lazy". There's way too much people who were not into fitness but were fine eating whatever they wanted in their 20s who end up not being able to maintain that in their 30s.

If it isn't metabolism as a whole it's definitely the a change in the way the body processes sugar and carbs specifically.

People always leave this part out

Not even with just fitness, at a certain point/age most people just quit on dreams, optimism and maintenance
Fitness gives you the energy to pursue dreams, provide, etc.

I was talking to a lady about this while in a whirlpool after a workout. I said something like "I'm ready to take on the world". She looked at me like I was some kind of nut job.

She clearly didn't understand or just didn't want to. Folks out here are programmed.

Bad eating habits people were able to get away with in their teens and 20s starts to catch up with them when their metabolism slows down
People who use to look fit suddenly start looking :flabbynsick: as they age, usually nothing is different about their diet or lifestyle so it's hard for people to cope with
If you actually eat right and are active it's not hard to lose weight regardless what age you are
I'm over 30 and just lose 10lbs in the last month with relative ease. All it took was me not eating a family size bag of chips everyday, drinking beer, and other fat shyt. Been eating lean meats, vegetables, and fruit. Real hard stuff there :skip:

The older you get you burn less calories so you would have to eat less or workout more hours or you risk getting flabby

Have a hard time understanding words, Brehs.

"After thirty" means you're over 30 YO.

"weight loss" means the losing of weight.

"harder" means more difficult.

When you put these ideas in an order you get what we call a sentence.

Sound it out Breh..

But seriously. Like the good Brehs have said. You just kinda lose weight, or it never accumulates or sumn when you're younger. Then when you're older same eating habits and same activity level will get you a belly. So you either have to eat better or work out harder.

Metabolism is prolly the best way to sum it up.

What 1:00AM trip to the drive-thru at Wendy's hits different in your 30's

BECAUSE ITS A SLOW PROCESS...

YOU DONT JUST GET FLABBY OVER NIGHT....

YOU START AT A BASE
AND SLOWLY ADD FAT YR BY YR
THAT IS UNNOTICEABLE
UNTIL ONE DAY YOU LOOK
AT A PIC FROM 6 YRS AGO
AND REALIZE YOU LOOK BLOATED
AS fukk NOW.

YOUR METABOLISM DIDNT SLOW DOWN
YOU JUST SLOWLY ACCUMILATED FAT
UNTIL YOU BECAME COMPLETELY FLABBY
AND NOW YOU CANT LOSE IT
BECAUSE AS YOU MENTIONED
THESE PPL WERE NEVER
INTO FITNESS IN THE 1ST PLACE.

This. Basically, I've always had a basic weight I could maintain without paying attention to my diet and it has increased in ten pound steps every ten years.
