Box Cutta
Bumbling Sidekick
Born in 87. Didn't watch it or really care about it during my early childhood.
Originally got into it around the beginning of the AE/NWO (Somewhere around 96/97). I think I started watching because most of my friends started getting into it. This was around 5th or 6th grade. I would say that between 97-99 was when I was at my most passionate.
Was originally more of a WCW stan, gradually started switching between them, and ended up switching over to Raw for good once the Austin/McMahon feud really heated up and after WCW started to show some seams (I can't really remember specific dates or anything, it's all sort of a blur).
Interest started fading during the ruthless aggression era. My buddies had started to lose interest so I did as well. Once again, can't remember dates, but I remember liking a lot of the early Angle stuff, but by the time they got to Cena and Orton I had started fading. I would say that sometime between 2003 and 2011..I barely ever watched or followed it.
Got back into it with The Rock's return in 2011, been on and off since then.
Edit :
Lol, I honestly didn't see your post until after I posted mine, but yeah, that seems to be the time period when "the boom" truly ended. At least that's what it seems like. So many different things in play but I think that most people who stopped tuning in during that time had probably lost interest earlier and it just took a year or two to finally let it go. Nothing was the same without the competition between WCW/WWE.

Edit :
It's funny how everyone seems to fell out around 03-05 era. I fell out but had friends that would keep me posted on stuff. I didn't start watching again until rumors of Bret showing up in Montreal in 05 popped off when his music hit and Shawn faked everyone out he showed me how much of a mark I was and been watching since.

who is this crazy dude with the weird voice. Later on that day was flipping channels again and I saw Ric Flair on WCW Saturday Night cutting a promo. I was like
one of my friends did the rikishi sell

sh*t almost reeled me in) but still wasn't buying it......
in my 8 year old mind
.... my cousin was like "That's the ultimate Warrior he Intercontinental Champion right now"....Warrior instantly became my favorite wrestler.... man the effect that dude had on kids from that era can't be described... The theme music, the colorful outfits, the intensity,....he really was like a real life comic book super hero...
