Most (if not all) Bone Thugs supporters have immediately resorted to sales to justify Bone being better. Oh Wu are irrelevant old and dusty, no black person listens etc. meanwhile Bone has sold x...therefore Bone >>>.

Wu-Tang are still relevant and talked about. They headline the same shows that Bone open up. They have transcended the music industry. You cannot call that Martin Skhreli situation 'weird' because they managed to get 2 mil for that album. This is of course relative to Bone. I'm not claiming Wu are top of the game like Drake or something. I'm talking relative to Bone, who are practically non-existent.

Now lets focus on quality. Line the albums up. And are you seriously ignorant to think those solo joints in the first wave of Wu releases (93-97) are actual solo albums?

the real answer is wu created something original... a sound, a movement, a symbol, and great music that stood the test of time... you can still play cream today... you can still play hits off those solos albums.... they still have classics upon classics

they had a plan.... nikkas acitng like the solo shyt was a good guess... nah they were the FIRST to have a contract as group that could do separate solos... they planned the shyt from day 1.... they didn't stick to just music... they had hands in everything... you can still see their clothing line out here.. you can still turn on a movie and catch one of them in it... you can still see rza scoring movies and directing movies and doing his thing in hollywood

This. I really don't know anybody out west that bumps Wu tang like that. Of course I don't know what everyone is listening to, but growing up bone thugs got a lot of play out here.

if I was new to rap and was basing my opinions off of this thread, I would come to the conclusion that bone thugs were the peoples champs, and wutang was moreso the industry favorite that gets more media hype.

just look at the difference in arguments being made, and all these people saying that wutang didn't get play in their cities & hoods like that, if at all.
