There’s only so much you can do with fighting games gameplay wise , which is why most of them die out quick

Don’t get me started on online , I don’t think I ever won a online match they’re too good

It comes down to enjoyment and fun. When online became widespread and mainstream for fighting games, a lot of folks got extremely humbled when they took their local basic ass skills and put them against the world.

They realized that, "hey... getting the shyt beat out of me every match isn't fun" and stop playing. The only folks that can pick up a fighting game and stick with it after hours of practice and losing, are dudes that are trying to be at a tournament level.

I stopped playing fighting games, cause I'm ultra-competitive and I know the amount of time I would have to put in to these games to satisfy myself just is too much and outweighs the enjoyment I would get from being an "online legend".

Last fighting game that I went hard in, was VF5FS and SFIV. VF is dead and I ain't trying to get nice in SF, so I just said fukk it

Fighting games were always best to play with your friends in a room together. Having real life :russ::mjcry::why::pacspit::ooh::damn::mindblown::umad: reactions....losing and passing the sticks, or winning 10x in a row while everyone else takes turns. I know me and my friends can't/won't get together like that and play video games all day no more. And playing the computer, screaming white boys, or god level asians online ain't fun enough for me to bother with fighting games anymore

This is the only real answer for most nikkas

The games outgrew is when online hit, local play with yo siblings and regular cats is good fun but playin online against ppl who eat shyt and breathe this shyt daily :mjlol:

:rudy:

:camby:

Once all your ppl got too old and got lives to the point where they couldn’t lay the shyt died with me personally :manny:

Yup. Last time I REALLY tried to play a fighting game to that level was MvC3. I had a fight stick and everything. I had put in hours to get some of the more complex combos down. Then they came out with Ultimate and I was like, I don't have time for this shyt again.

Competitive games in general is a young man's sport.

I tapped out at Tekken 5.:francis:

For some reason Tekken makes me feel motion sick, I can't even play it.

I've moved back to the MK/Netherrealm series of fighter games after losing interest in Street Fighter and their money grab business model after SFIV I was done.

I personally think it's not the game in itself it's the practice of either lumping all the content in the game and making you grind to get it. There's a reason why the original SF IV and original SF II were so successful.

Short answer Street Fighter V.

More detailed answer: when the FGC became obsessed with balance over fun and updates started patching everything.

If you actually hit training mode once in a while you'd be as good as everyone else. Except for some legacy games the average skill level on most FGs net play is easily attainable just by knowing what to practice.:manny:

Difference is to get better at a FG is to beat at a stationary A.I for 45mins fukkin with the cpu settings every other minute to test things out or practicing a combo until your fingers hurt.

Getting better at a FPS is playing in a lobby with you friends for 45mins.

You can be good at FGs while working and having a social life, but people usually just don't want to spend the small amount of free time they have trying to lab a FG. Community is niche for a reason and that's ok.

It's always funny to me though when a new fighter comes and I'm playin against friends and they ask me "how they fukk are you doing this shyt already:sadcam:" and all I did was lab a BnB before work.
