Idk bra you get hit on a check down and you gotta earn the rest of those yards

U see a nikka like Sean Taylor running at you full speed might take a humble slide

The average person can run the ball in from the 1 yard line.

In basketball 90% of the time it 1 on 1.
yeah i don't doubt that, but when you run that 1 yd you're getting hit by 5-6 dudes who are 300+ pounds and have trained their whole life to fukk people up.

I'll take getting hard screened over getting tackled anyday

Picking up 10 yards and it’s not even close. A better comparison would be if it’s more difficult to get a hit against a MLB player.

I can get a lucky shot off on an NBA player.

The general public has no fukking clue how fast an NFL player can cover space. There are d-lineman in the NFL that are faster than defensive backs in a 10 yard race.

Edit:

For anyone that cares about this stuff. Julio Jones 10 yard split at the combine was 1.50 seconds. Montez Sweat (who is a defensive lineman) was also 1.50 seconds. Nick Bosa's split was 1.55 seconds. The d-lineman are the ones you have to worry about if you're trying to pick up 10 yards and they're VERY fast in short sprints.

10 yards. NFL defenders are so much quicker than the average person you wouldnt believe it. A 330 lb dlineman would make the average person look like they were standing still in a footrace.

Out of the backfield It doesnt matter whos blocking, by the time you make it to the line of scrimmage its over. And if youre playing receiver, forget it, youll never run a clean route and youll never get open. Not to mention the threat of having your sternum crushed weighing on your mind. In Pros vs Joes the football joes ALWAYS got shytted on the worst.

For 2 pts in the NBA all it takes is one lucky shot. Loose ball, cherry pick, catch and shoot, silly fadeaway, anything. Do i need to pull up the vid of that stock broker scoring multiple buckets on jordan? All you have to do is jack the ball up and get lucky one time, it requires zero physical gifts.

The average person might be able to get a lucky shot off, would have to be a wide open via drive and dish sort of shot because the average person isn't finishing or creating a good shot vs NBA players, but even that's very unlikely

Getting a first down at the NFL level, though, forget about it especially if it's running 10 yards (not happening, average person getting a yard at best). The fear factor alone would eliminate most people, the rest would not have the athleticism, vision, or hands.

It would be easier for most people to score a bucket vs NBA players than to get a hit vs MLB pitchers or catch a pass/run 5 yards in the NFL. Not "easy", because most people couldn't do it period, just easier. For myself personally?

My basketball skills are trash. No shot, no speed, no handles, nothing. Now I'm more built for football and played so I think with a month if conditioning I could get a 5-yard gain---->i couldn't catch a pass though because I'm not fast enough to separate and I don't have great hands. Would take me a year of conditioning to be able to prepare for an NFL pass/route running...

But I understand blocking schemes, I have a strong upper body, lower body, and strong hands, and I can eat a hit. I don't think it would be easy certainly not in my out of shape place I'm in right now, but you give me 30 days, max 90 days of NFL-level conditioning, I'm getting that 5 yard gain...

I never played baseball so I'd never be able to do anything on a diamond. And I never made a basketball team, I understand the sport and I lack height, speed, and skills, but I feel like you give me 30 days of NBA-level conditioning and I'm getting that bucket...

Draw up the right Rick

Lol I'm not taking it as a clown but I doubt I described most Bron stans because I know Bron stans in my real life social circles who actually played college ball and can hoop...

I just couldn't hoop, I was a football player and didn't have the gift of being good at both lmao. I'm far from unathletic, I'm just not basketball athletic...

I don't know why cats on here act like you can't have an opinion on sports if you couldn't play at a high level, yall say that shyt often. Who do yall think running all these teams from ownership to executives to even some coaches and scouts? Only a small percentage of these people played at D1 or higher...

I was in prison with a bunch of older Jordan heads and most of those dudes couldn't dribble a basketball or talk about the game in any intricate way. And cacs love ALL the big athletes regardless of sport, cacs swear by Jordan to the grave...

Just those two arguments (cacs, unathletic) get used against Bron stans on here all the time like they don't apply to anybody else, pretty much the worst argument consistently repeated around here...

I never came close to saying you can't have an opinion on ball if you didn't play at a high level.

I'm saying I'm pretty sure most bron stans are like you and can't play basketball.

Nah I didnt mean to imply you were saying that, but it's a common refrain. And we'll just disagree on Bron Stans, the ones I know are all better than me and several played at the collegiate level, the ones I know aren't guys who don't know basketball...

I actually played football in college and my 'non in great shape' ass would need a lot of luck to get a 1st down. #1 if the NFL team is in man...no way...not happening no matter what. It would come down to a lucky scheme vs a zone defense on a route. Then you have to hold on to the ball after the hit.
We hoped with our basketball team sometimes so I got to experience what it's like playing against D1 major conference hoop stars. It's like they never missed. It was like running gashers. I was at my prime of basketball skills in college and still didnt want any smoke with them. But people get lazy on D. If we are talking made-up full court press then we have a problem. Especially since I'm 5'10 playing against cats that are a long 6'6 plus. It would take a lucky shot
