I used to think this, until I grew up.
In today’s society, this is a weird thing to expect.

Every grown man and woman should know how to cook, clean and wash your own clothes.

We have all the technologies where we don’t need to spend all day in the kitchen

I do agree with this
Cook and cleaning are the only chores that matter to them

Exactly, I'm all about sharing chores but we are about to share everything around this house if we are going down that rabbit hole. Roles were defined back in the day, when I came up, I rarely saw my dad if at any time, wash and fold up clothes, and I rarely saw my mama outside in the yard doing yard work, cutting grass, edging and shyt, the only time I saw a woman in the yard was when she was in her garden/flower bed.

I can count on one hand the many of times I saw a woman cutting grass and edging, etc and usually it was women over 45 or older. I didn't see 20, 30 year old women cutting grass.

I didn't see too many women outside washing cars, I can count on one hand when I saw that, usually when I see women washing cars nowadays, they are in their 20s, 30s, at the car wash, most now go through the car wash, Bennys etc, but back then, you would wash your car in the driveway (the man would) was his car/truck and his wife's car, if the wife/woman had to wash her car she would drive it through the gas station's car wash

I would look at my wife as my best friend. Roles come natural and we just build each other up. If she make more money and wants the bigger house, she's not gonna hold me accountable to foot all or a majority of the bills because that's mad retarded and unrealistic.

If she looking at me like an atm, she ain't my wife, I'm her trick.
Also, I know how to cook/grill, etc for myself. Men should know how to provide and be comfortable taking care of themselves and finding their purpose prior to a relationship instead of looking for it in others and being complacent. That's something I had to learn myself. There's women that prey on those types. Me and my girl cook for each other even though she's a way better chef.

I be eating ground ribeye burgers and sous vide steak. Not even sure I trust my girl to cook to my liking.

It's fun, therapeutic and takes like 30 minutes of actual "work" a day.

Exactly this.

End of the day you got to ask yourself: would be better off not knowing how to cook and clean?

Really, those are really basic skills every man should know.

If you're single you'd be fighting against the grain and spending way more than you should if you were eating out every day/night.

No excuse. Youtube is right there. Not to mention there are instagram channels with all types of bomb ass recipes.

Don't got to do it every single night, but not knowing how or worse: relying on someone else to prepare your meals is essentially a weakness.

That's fair, so that means women should at times cut grass, edge and wash cars? Do the grunt of the house work as well if we are sharing chores.

Folks only wanna focus on the 'inside' chores. Let's include all the chores.
She wake her ass up Saturday morning and get out there and tackle that big ass yard front and back, edge and trim any bushes.

Let's not limit the chores to cooking and laundry, I don't see a whole lot of women out in the yard cutting grass and doing other grunt work

Here comes Captain Tit for Tat with the bullshït. Just buy you a dog now, Breh

:mjlol:

But in all seriousness though man, find the compromise that works best you. Oh yeah, the keyword is still compromise

THANK YOU!

Women sound “lazy” and “ungrateful” when we say it, so y’all have to say it.

Yeeeees SIR, if you can ensure that your woman stays in the house, you don’t need to lift a finger in that castle. That is absolutely correct.

Brehs be mad women don’t want to be on a rudderless ship. I ain’t never met a woman with some sense that trying to be a part of the two blind mice brigade

If you can’t be the sole breadwinner then :camby:with the bullshyt.

You really expect your wife to come home from working the same hours as you and to do all the cleaning, cooking and child rearing?

Neo liberalism and feminism killed that Leave it to Beaver lifestyle for most families. Not that I’m arguing it’s a good thing overall. :whoa:

We will definitely eat left overs. I grilled tuna, salmon and steak yesterday. I usually put water on a paper towel and put in the microwave.

I know a guy that has a catering business here that could cook but wifey is particular. I’d like to take a cooking class. We did this virtual mixology class for our anniversary that was dope, so I’m sure they have something like that I could do.

Go to your community college . They normally have non credited classes.

Go take a knife skills basics class and practice. Hell they even have couples date night classes. Where you can learn a basic Paella dish it's a traditional Spanish dish of rice chicken, seafood and sausage.

Have fun with it. If you want take a safe serv class it will teach you the do' and donts in the kitchen how to not cross contaminate.

That safe serve is worth the couple Franklins. After I took it I looked at the kitchen in a new way pre culinary school. Leave your ego at home. Be teachable and enjoy the process!

I grew up in a household where both mom and dad cooked and cleaned. So these conversations are often hilarious to me. Mom knew how to cook more stuff than dad, but he still helped and vice versa. Then I got interested in cooking and helping my mom in the kitchen. Which basically is the problem, some folks aren't learning from their mothers and fathers on how to cook stuff and some just aren't interested.

But every adult should know how to cook some stuff, you get with another person that knows how to cook some stuff, and ya'll can combine skills and make meals together. It's fun to learn from each other.
In other words: "Teamwork makes the dream work, friend. :troll: "

I’ve paid all of the bills, she worked and kept every cent she made on top of me still being romantic and buying gifts… The bytch still came out her mouth and told me she felt like it wasn’t her job to cook and clean. Most women cannot be pleased… You can do everything and she will still find a way to tell you what she won’t do or say the little that she does is too much.

Btw… I don’t know a man that expects his wife to do ALL of the cooking and cleaning.
Threads like this make me glad I was raised how I was raised. This is why my mother told me to never marry an American women because they're lazy, selfish, and entitled. Growing up I never saw my dad cook, wash a dish, pick up a plate, do the laundry, or mend a hole in his own socks. My mother did 100% of the domestic work and I never heard her complain about it.

Last year my mother had to remind me of how she raised me. She said unless a woman is cooking, cleaning, washing my draws, and keeping my house spotless from day one, don't marry her. She told me that's what she was doing from my dad on day one.

And what's sad is your grandfathers, and great grandfathers were probably barely literate and lived below the poverty line and they still had wives that cooked, cleaned, and did their duty.

If we are being fair, then be fair about everything. I'm just making a point.

Why do our community act like cooking is some herculean act, or beneath women. I cook regularly, and am a better cook than any woman I've been with it. If your ass can't cook I'd rather you not pollute my tongue considering I can do it myself.

on the flipside if you really really think its that much work just get a fukking air fryer. takes an idiot to fukk up meals with that.
