Please don't be naive. On one hand you think the CIA having all these powerful tools is the best thing ever...On the other hand you don't think they deploy these tools. Cmon now.
Wanna discuss how these "awesome capabilities" are in the hands of completely incompetent authorities?
I'm not naive to think that there is no possibility that CIA is spying on USA citizens, but from all the information I've seen so far, this is targetting foreign individuals, is it not?
They are exposing the source codes of how these hacking programs bypassed natural security measures in place of several devices in order to spy on foreign people. I was under no delusion this did not take place. Once you show that american citizens who are not part of a foreign spy operation are the target then my alarm bells will go off. Otherwise this seems like a data dump for information sake. Not caping, but again, I don't think anyone thought that the CIA wasn't using every means possible to hack people and engage in cyber warfare.
The most concerning thing I've seen so far is that they "lost control" of their malware. Reminds me of the Stuxnet worm that was released a while back.
Well Russia has them now...and they only leaked the stuff they didn't care about.I'm divided...while I think having access is necessary in certain situations. I don't want them misusing it on your avg every day American for other purposes
You mean like this?so to you unless wikileaks divides their leaks equally between dem and repubs then the info isn't legit? is less significant? the fukk is this crossfire?
dems been in office last 8 years so the leaks is about dems
when bush was in office leaks was about cons
but anyway this is about the CIA so why are you making this a partisan issue?

Worry about your own:I generally agree with your assessment but I don't have as much faith in the goodwill of the CIA as you do. They've been exposed for spying on Americans in the past. In recent years the laws on information sharing have been lessened so they have been working more closely with the FBI and NSA and even operating on domestic soil through joint task forces with those agencies. The CIA has always pushed the boundaries so if they have the capability (which these leaks prove they do) then why wouldn't they do massive surveillance on domestic soil as they do on foreign soil? The malware infections that are mentioned in these leaks are fairly indiscriminate about who they're targeting so theres a very likely chance that CIA malware is on tons of American iPhones and Android devices.

I agree and like I said, if it came out later this was used indiscriminately on US citizens, I'm not naive enough to be surprised. We already know the NSA was indiscriminately spying on US citizens.I generally agree with your assessment but I don't have as much faith in the goodwill of the CIA as you do. people really in herefor the CIA, the fukking CIA, one of the worst agencys ever in the worlds history, on a hiphop board at that
seriously tho, the CIA?
I think you do enough worrying for everyone on the Coli combined.
there is no goal to be "equal". If there is more dirt on one side than the other, it is what it is. However, this is not what is happening. Like I said, and I hate I can't quote it again, but there have been several tweets made under the wikileaks account that have been partisan and defensive in regards to this administration than others. If you want to play "Assange is just an anarchist" card then you wouldn't see defensive statements for the current president in the united states. Also just because the president is a democrat doesn't mean republicans disappeared. They had congress for 6 out of 8 years during that time.
If the reports that RNC and various state republican legislatures were also hacked but there was a selective release of information in order to hurt one side over the other, then you can't claim neutrality. Period.
1.) Assange is extremely hurt by actions of the Obama administration
2.) He may not be a willing patsy, but he is getting a ton of information from a particular party in order to help spread their propaganda,
3.) Or worse, he is a knowing patsy and is acting on said party behalf under the guise of "anarchist wanting to watch the world burn...in certain circumstances"
Didnt they throw a hissy fit when the Panama papers were released despite being transparency adovcates? I find that odd.
from what i gather about Assange i dont think he cares about the red/blue politics, its seems he's more into the globalism vs nationalism war, and he's against globalist which are represented by dems and repubs.
this is why Michelle hugged up on GWB they both globalists
gotta remember Assange aint from US i doubt he views these people thru the reb/blue lens like we do
and another reason DNC got hacked is cause they took their files off the private server, so maybe repubs were smart enough not to do that
