While I agree that there is some level of dismissal which is inherent in male and female discussions, I think some misconstrue "dismissal" of issues because they are unimportant or counterproductive with "dismissal" of issues because they involve black women. I dismiss issues because of the latter. I consider whether the issue is important and what it means for black people and women, then I make my decision. This is how men all over make their decisions. It is counterproductive to work towards a solution to black women feeling disrespected, unappreciated, and unloved by black men? Because there are no consequences to that right? Maintaining strong black families is not important right? Making sure black women are not lured in by men who have proven their unsavory intentions is not beneficial at all right?

Making sure black women are NOT spending their time, money, or health trying to look like something unnatural is not productive because who cares if you have a nation of mentally and physically poisoned women giving birth to children and teaching them the same values.

It's a trivial issue but at the same time someone mentioned white men worship as if these issues are not intertwined. Black women's issues are irrelevant because white women had an agenda. Black women are just whining and there are no real world consequences to black women feeling disrespected by their men. Got it.
