People don't like to hear it, but the truth of the matter is that women are responsible for their own safety. I'm no more obligated to protecting you just because of my sex than your are entitled to sleeping with me just because of your sex. It's not a right.

It just amazing how it's the victims fault.

Do people not know that some men play Prince Charming up until the first blow is struck?

It's a classic "shock and awe" method. Any man can be an abuser, and some men GROOM their victims for abuse.

And it's NOT easy for women to just up and leave.

Find a new job, new place to live, in a new city, while securing restraining orders.

Do you know how many women are just afraid to walk into the courthouse?

Or how about moving out? Are the police going to stand guard while she moves to keep him from killing her with his assault rifle?

What if he's tracking her via her SSN, name, DOB?

Do you know in MOST states you cannot change your name under a sealed court order?

And how does she get a job in this new city?

Or pay for rent and utilities deposit?

Remember this all has to happen AT THE LAST MINUTE when a woman is on the run! New job, new apt, new schools for children, paying movers, paying storage, gas, tolls, hotels, eating out.

How much does it cost to just UP and move to a new place? $100 $1000 $5000? And what if she doesn't have $5000-$10000 laying around?

How does she get approved for a new place with NO JOB in that new city? Where does she live then?

She can't go back to her parents or to her friends, BECAUSE HE'S LOOKING FOR HER....

And what if they have children? She may be legally obligated to let him see his children...

But, HE'S TRYING TO KILL HER!

I know women who've had to pack up and move themselves and their children away from MANIACS in the middle of the night.

Can you imagine packing up your 5 kids to move halfway across the country with NO MONEY on some Underground Railroad shyt?

Looking over your shoulder for the day he tracks you down at your NEW job and guns you down?

This is the reality of domestic violence for many women.

There is no ONE type of man whose an abuser.

Wealthy/poor, educated/or not...

Any man can terrorize a woman.

Black women are being killed 2.5 times MORE than the national average and of that 93% of the time they are being killed by Black men.

One of my dear classmates was murdered by his family member's abuser when he tried to defend her.

This shyt is real and it's happening.

I don't think anyone who knows you in real life expects you to protect ANYONE.

You have to look at both the perp and the victim to fully understand what you're looking at, if the victim has a history of dating abusers then that IS relevant.

When Rihanna says she doesn't date "nice" guys, that's a huge red flag right there.

How many abusers does a woman have to date for it to be relevant?

Do you want to protect women or do you want women to be a protectorate? because there is a difference. It's relevant because people aren't just inanimate objects like a house or a liquor store incapable of self-agency or discernment. I give women way more credit than to assume the former.

At this point you have posted multiple times and not once addressed the topic of the thread. Black women are being murdered at 2.5 times higher rate than national average and 93% of those murders are being committed by Black men with whom they're in relationships.

What is your response to the actual thread topic?
