I'm gonna be honest. A lot of white girls got a kinda of confidence in themselves(swag) that black girls usually don't have for the usual reasons. A lot of black women's insecurities is not attractive to me. A lot of white high school/college girls around my way ain't afraid to show off some skin even if they don't got the ass for it, they usually got legs but it's something to look at. I hardly ever see black girls wearing boy shorts and halter tops. It's the dress game/confidence. A lot of black women be on that uber feminist shyt too to the point where they don't embrace femininity. Black girls in my area be on that plane jane shyt.

These type of superficialities are meaningless in the large scope of things though. Of course black women have insecurities. When their experience has been historically mis-shaped in the manner it has been in America, issues will arise needless to say. Black men have insecurities too obviously. To acknowledge historical, cultural, and psychological impediments put upon a race of people and only give a pass to one gender of that race, and condemn the other gender for their insecurities seems a bit shallow and selfish to me.

As Reincar stated, black man-white woman marriages have the highest divorce rates and a lot that is due to their marriages being based on foundations of superficiality, like the shyt you said about white women wearing halter tops and acting more "feminine."

There's always been a forbidden fruit factor to the dynamic of black man-white woman attraction for historical reasons (see Flipper Purify's dad's speech I'm Jungle Fever). White women talk about how they like how black mens' dark skin contrast against theirs, and speak in fetishing terms about them. Black men look at white women as a sign of societal status and being more submissive than black women.

I'm speaking in general terms and I know every black man-white woman relationship isn't like that. I know there are genuine loving partnerships as well. But a good portion of those relationships are based upon those superficialities.

I've been married a minute and I know a key to a lasting marriage is a good rapport and devotion on personal level, and the ability to just be friends at the end of the day. Those moments at night when y'all are just chilling, watching TV and talking about random shyt.

That's why I have concerns about ever marrying a white chick. You don't have to share the same views and opinions with your lady, but I think it's important to be able to relate and understand each other's experience. And I'm only half black. My mom grew up under segregation in Bermuda and she's racially aware. My dad is Guyanese, but he grew up 3rd world dirt poor and was always a political thinker and active in the community. My older siblings are socially aware and analytical thinkers. I'm in that mold. I have a strong perspective on everything.

Relatability is important. What do yall do in that awkward moment when your pawg princess says she thinks the Confederate flag flying on state houses is no big deal and just represents southern pride?

While some folks might get carried away with how they go about it (i.e. turning attraction into praise/parading), I'm starting believe that black people and white PEOPLE are just finding more common interests than they had in the 90's. However, just like anything else on the internet, people like to play it up to piss people off b/c it's always hilarious to see people get sensitive about dumb shyt.

Could be the Kanye/Jay-Z effect. We liked Kanye. We secretly liked Maroon 5...then it became to admit that you liked Maroon 5. Then, Kanye & Adam Levine did a song.

Essentially the same w/ Hov & Coldplay.

Black people started getting encouraged to be less restricted in their interests. You almost end up looking silly being close-minded and not exploring things outside of your local area.

Look at music tastes.
Look at the concerts.
Look at sports.
Look at comedy.
Look at movie tastes.
Look at fashion.

Everything's becoming more diverse and people don't feel as obligated to be stand-offish when it comes to change anymore.
