I hear you bro but these numbers are kinda inflated because the defense was non existent for the 1st half, dudes were wide open. When it came to the 2nd half like I said he threw 2 interceptions :manny: I think Purdy is good but won't ever be elite
Right, agreed, those numbers aren't indicative of Purdy's average over the course of this season and Detroit's defense is definitely depleted. But he wasn't dumping the ball off the whole game. He made multiple high-level throws at depth and into tight windows and froze the LB on his rushing TD. You can't say the guy is a bum. I disagree that Purdy can't ever be an elite QB, but I have no problem with saying he's not there right now. The picks weren't good!

Right. The conversation around Purdy is super weird because lots of these dudes are just mad because a guy like Purdy shouldn't be as good as he is. No one - not even any Purdy stan - is saying he's in the elite tier with Mahomes and Allen and Lamar. But he's playing historically well for a player drafted where he was, and had a great, MVP-caliber season last year. But because he's waxed certain fanbases they resort to hyperbole claiming people are advocating Purdy should be given the highest contract or Purdy an elite tier QB, just trying to cut him down to recover from their team being embarrassed by the Niners. Transparent and pathetic. :heh:
I actually like him because i always root for the under dog

Pay purdy and your window is closed though. He not winning y’all a Super Bowl as the teams highest paid player

You wanna look at career numbers or nah?

Sure, but I must say I'm shocked to see a Niner fan of all people trying to soothe the pain of the present day by self-medicating with the memories of yesteryear.

It's completely out of character for y'all to still cling to the past for signs of life and relevance. You been vacationing in Dallas recently or sumthin? :jbhmm:

And if Jake Moody makes his kicks we still win. :manny: Two can play the game you're playing. Also, you never had smoke for Jimmy G so this is why you're posting in here. We all wanted Jimmy gone and u didn't.

But he didn't.

Bruh I hated Jimmy, what are you even talking about?

Paying QBs doesn't close windows. Paying Goff didn't close the Lions window. Windows close because you have a bad team and a bad QB that the organization commits to. It's not a money issue. Good teams will draft and find value FA adds that fit their winning scheme. Bad teams draft poorly and overpay FAs to compensate. We already have CMC, Aiyuk, Kittle, Pearsall, Trent, Juszczyk and Jennings under contract, and they'll be here when Purdy gets his deal because these NFL contracts are fugazi. The only guy we might cut loose is Deebo, but we can survive that loss with good drafting. Those are qualitatively similar conditions as we had last year when Purdy took us to OT in the SB. We can absolutely win a SB with him as the team's highest paid player.

Whose gonna break the news to my guy that Hurts has perhaps the easiest QB situation in the league throwing to two elite WRs, playing behind an elite OL with an elite RB and still has 580 less passing yards than Purdy whose top WR is a 3rd stringer and is playing behind a bottom-tier OL with a 3rd and 4th string RB and only 1 other pro-bowl caliber player on offense? And that Hurts is literally making 50 million times what Purdy is making?

Or to summarize, also has a lower QB rating with more than double the picks.

:deadrose:

But as expected, the football worldview of Niner fans is: "If anything goes not according to plan or anybody on the team gets injured, nothing we do on the field counts.......unless it's something good."

For the record, Purdy is actually one of only two Whiner players I DON'T despise. It's fukk San Fran all day everyday, but Purdy actually gets a pass (which will probably be intercepted, but I digress...) from me.

I objectively think Brock is a good QB, nothing more nothing less, but I genuinely don't hate the man and respect his accomplishments. But anybody else on that team not named Purdy or Hufanga can take Fletcher Cox's advice.

Trent definitely looks like age has cost him a step but I see no reason to believe CMC is done at this point. He's 28 years old and it's not like he had a Tank Dell style complete knee explosion, he just had lingering achilles tendinitis. That's not a career-ender. Aiyuk's injury is a bigger question mark than CMC's to me, but Jameson Williams and Chris Godwin have both completely come back from the same injury recently.

We'll see if the window is closed or not. I'm betting on no. Too much talent on this team. Just need a good draft and some defensive coaching stability.

Zero context takes make for good television and tweets but bad football analysis.

Most reasonable sports fans understand that injuries play a role in a team's performance. I not sure what you mean by your post but if you're an Eagles fan I'm assuming this comes back to the 2022 NFCCG that started y'all on this weird odyssey.

1 Super Bowl win in your entire history don't make y'all special breh :pachaha:

And for the record, I never said Purdy was elite. Not my fault that there's posters in here who want to run away from the stats that don't fit their agendas

And let's be clear about where the Eagles fans mindset is at when it comes to the Niners. In that NFCCG we had no QB. Y'all wanted to joke about injuries. So the following year with a healthy Niners team the Eagles got smacked around. Y'all didn't come back around again until this year when even more Niners players got injured lmao

Coli GM's don't seem to get it... The top 12-15 QBs is the league make obscene money and Purdy is in that group so he's likely going to get paid. There are so many shytty QBs that the good ones often get overpaid.

Once again, just because other teams are dumb, does not mean we have to be.

There are no QBs who are available and proven to be better than Purdy.

Here are the available FA QBs: 2025 NFL Free Agents

What would be dumb is to roll the dice and bring in Zach Wilson or Mac Jones because we don't want to pay Purdy. Any QB who is better than Purdy is going to demand the same contract or higher. You can say it's dumb, but you're fighting against gravity. This is the league now. If you're a young QB that the franchise has given the keys to, you'll get a top 5 contract. The league balances it out by allowing salary cap fukkery so teams are free to make big mistakes like making Jimmy G the highest paid player in the league and suffering no drastic roster consequences from it. The only real question/decision is if we want Brock Purdy as the QB of this team moving forward. It doesn't matter if the contract if 40, 50 or 60 million. The money doesn't matter at all. The contract is just a way to keep a guy in the building.
