A Buckeye State Of Mind
Because one player defines how everybody else develops. :comeon:

Okafor is probably more athletic than Marc Gasol and Gasol anchored some great defenses in Memphis. You guys want to condemn Okafor for playing with that god-awful roster last season and think it's over for him. It's ridiculous.
Out of the four I like Okafor the least because of the coaching philosophy. But on any other team if you can coach him up on D and make him give more effort on boards you got yourself a big time player. He's young. All 4 guys is raw and could grow into special players. It's absurd to think any have reached their ceiling:heh:

Did you read my 1st post:what: If I said I want embiid off the bench this season to prove he's healthy and I think okafor is the odd man out who are the two I expect to finish the year as the starters:jbhmm:
I didn't direct that entire post at you. I was getting you and old boy's post mixed up. Which is why I @ him. I apologize for the confusion. The posts hit me all at once.

Keep Ish for now, draft a PG for the future next year with LA or our pick

sign a low risk SG for now to plug in.

Trade Okafor for a shooting wing...

Ish/ McConnell
new SG/ Stauskas
Covington/ Luwawu
Simmons/ Grant/ Holmes
Noel/ Embiid/ Insurance Center in case

No. What I'm saying is Jah is effective. Plenty effective! I never said he can't have a great career, & he could become a sound defender. Although, he maybe a Al Jefferson type player. But, if he DOESN'T FIT WITH THE REST OF THE TEAM AT THIS MOMENT AND THERE'S A MARKET FOR HIM, WHY KEEP HIM IF YOU CAN TRADE HIM TO ACQUIRE PIECES THAT DO!?!? I know he gets 20/10 in his sleep.... But, it seems that he doesn't fit with what Brett Brown wants from a versatility standpoint AT THIS MOMENT! And, there is not going to be enough minutes to build up both Jah & Nerlens trade value more than what it is now. Brett Brown values defense so he probably prefers to keep Nerlens. Sale high on Jah while you can because you don't want to run the risk of him having a bad season this year. Regardless of what you think, Jah is still a prospect. Cats say, "He's the only known commodity we have." Then say, "He's still developing, you don't know what he can be."

Which is it? :yeshrug:

We know what he is and there's still quite a bit of room for improvement. They gotta move one of the two between him and Noel before the season. We saw how that shyt worked out with the Pistons when they had Smith, Drummond and Monroe.

If they think Noel is a better fit, then so be it. Personally, I value the offensive talent of Okafor more. I think he has a better chance of becoming good defensively than Noel does of being a really good offensive threat.

I'm still shocked Boston turned down that potential trade (assuming it was legit). Okafor would have been perfect for them.

Noel has to be the odd man out because of his contract situation, but I figured someone would've been traded by now. I'm wondering how long this has to drag out before Philly starts to lose leverage and has to take less value for one of the two.

Why would Noel have to be out cause of his contract situation? Im sure Philly has more than enough money. You gotta see how Embiid health holds up before moving any of them. Let them young boys develop, and if Embiid is the player who we all know he can be, and that foot holds up, then trade one of them. No need to rush a trade now

One has to get dealt though. There won't be enough clock to go around for all three bigs. Trade value goes down.
Yeah I know but they can get all 3 bigs on the court for at least 20 minutes a night in order to showcase the one they want traded. If they trade Okafor this summer and Embid gets hurt again then they look stupid.

Some of y'all cats have it twisted. I love Jah's game! But, between free agency & the draft, you can come across a big that can get you points. You don't, however, find a lot of bigs that can potentially post, stretch the floor, protect the rim or switch of on guards and stay in front of them. Jah is NICE! But, the theme of this team seems to be VERSATILITY! Which is why I can see him being traded. NOT saying I want him traded.
Yeah it irks the hell out of me that people act like Okafor is 25 and been in the league 5 plus years already and is a finished product. Just off the top of my head I bet his numbers are just as good or close to Demarcus Cousins in his rookie year. Cats are so worried about that PER bullshyt but don't mention that he was on the worst team in the league that nearly set the record for least wins in a season. The guy has been a winner wherever he has went and was hyped as the best big man prospect since Oden so if you put some talent around him then you know you can have some success with him.

Don't trade anybody before training camp and don't trade okafor ever, dude demands double teams constantly, has faceup game and a little jumper if his passing devolopments he could be when one of the best offensive players in the game u can't trade that.

And Simmons don't have to play the 4 he could play 3 or 1 and embiid prolly play like 20 mins a game.

Trade noel if the deal is right play jah at 4 if him and embiid both good it's gonna work f*ck fit

Be patient a pg will come either thru draft or free agency still got Lakers pick and sac swaps (hinkgod)
