nash is my favorite player of all time

but prime against prime is no contest Jkidd

nash was his apprentice this thread doesnt even make sense

kidds defense in his prime combined with playmaking and good shooting is incomparable

nash played passive and thats why he never got calls in big games ... meanwhile jkidd was shutting down lebron in the finals at like 38 years old :russ:

either one would be a good pick regardless

nikka, put those Kidd-Nets against the teams that Nash went against and they get SWEPT.

Nash's scoring, playmaking, and efficienct shyt all over Kidd

Don't even remember if i posted in here, but I love me some Steve Nash. One of my favorites of all time. Damn shame he never won a title.

agreed cause nash is my favorite of all time
but if nash didnt have back problems and actually got his hands dirty he would have 2 titles

those nets teams were all underachievers under a good PG
sort of like the suns but the suns had way more dynamic players who stayed in there lane

one thing I never understood when Suns played Lakers was ... why put old as Ghill on kobe? why not throw Jrich on him for the athletic edge?

Dantoni made nash into a superstar HOF. Before that he was a very good allstar.

Jason kidd can thrive in any system and any offense. This isn't even close.

:francis:

Kidd was never in control of a "great offense" whereas Nash was consistently.

Kidd has never had a season that was good as any of Nash's MVP seasons (While in his prime).

Nash played in a system that maximized his offensive talents. The same system is making james harden look like the Big O, made Lin legit etc.. And basketball is more than just 1 side of the ball anyway. There was a reason why in phoenix kidd was starting and nash was backing him up. Nash had his best seasons after 30, it's clear why that was.

Yeah..

But that's only 50% of a basketball game..

Defense is overrated..
It's not as simple as defense is 50% of the game - it differs from position to position and it differs from role to role. For starters a PG's (who's the main ballhandler) offensive game and impact matters more than their defense, simply because they control and influence the offense more than any other position on their team (they don't control what happens on the defensive end to the same degree). Therefore in this player comparison - offense is what matters most. If we were comparing centers, it would make more sense to value defense more.

I've mentioned this to you before in this very thread:

Magic is a good example (don't take this as me saying Nash and Magic are equals on defense) - who was by no means a great defender by any measure; whose lack of defensive ability often had Riley hiding him on defense if he was matched up with a waterbug guard - yet it basically had minimal bearing on his impact on the game because of the role he played and the influence he had on offense. Similar applies to Nash.

Is Magic not the consensus GOAT PG? How could that be when he was only an average defender? I mean isn't defense 50% of the game?
So is passing, rebounding, assist to turnover ratio and playoff wins...
:merchant:

You say this like Nash isn't one of the greatest passers in history. You say this like Nash didn't have a better assist to turnover ratio than Kidd did during their respective primes. You say this like Nash didn't have more playoff wins than Kidd did (depending on what you classify their primes to be) during their respective primes.
The only thing that's not overrated is #3's

Ryan Anderson>>Karl Malone

Caricaturize the other side's argument to deflect away from your own argument being flimsy brehs.

Except he didn't. There's a reason why those Nets' offenses were average to horrible during the early/mid '00s.

that had more to do with the coaching style of byron and the offensive talent arond kidd

kenyon and richard were the athletes, then you had todd mcculough and lucious harris :mjlol:
