That was my fear when I first started but the strange thing is the longer you do it the less food you need. Your stomach shrinks and u end up having more energy.

basically
It's just doing high intensity exercise in short burst
Sprint for 30 seconds, rest for a minute
skipping rope for a minute and taking a minute break
hitting the heavy bag on and off for 25 minutes
basically the goal is to keep your heart rate elevated over a period of time while alternating between high and low intensities. It allows you to push yourself to the max anaerobically for intermittently without completely gassing out from exhaustion.
25-30 minutes is enough but when I'm skipping rope it could last 45-50 minutes just because I seem to get "runner's high" after the 15-20 minute mark.
