Because people are indoctrined to going to college, There's skilled trades shortages everywhere, these unions are dying for more skilled folks. Went to a couple big conventions and labor shortage was the topic of several speeches.
Unions will start you off at $15/hr, give you free schooling to go one day a week, and then you journeyman in 4 years. All the jobsites i been to, the carpenters and electricians I spoke to all make $50/hr with crazy benefits.
And before y'all say it's hard on the body, you don't have to stay for long. Get in, make journeyman, and stack up before going to college. Have a cushy office job by 35 or so.
Brehs begging for student loan forgiveness, yeah ain't no telling when that shyt coming. With a trade you don't gotta ask for shyt. I'd have been way further in life ahead had I started a trade right outta highschool.
What’s not mentioned is how hard it is to get into the trades. Especially if your not Mexican. They gatekeep that shyt like a MF
