I would say Damn but I can't recite a lyric from it... but 4:44 got quotables for days and I'm enjoying it more. I can't choose. Is there an option for both or must they fight until the death where there is only one like Highlander?

I can never quote lines from K. DOT projects outside of GKMC. He's not really a dude who has lines that stick with you. It's more the whole project.

DAMN.

and people aren't giving Kendrick his lyrical props.
It's hard to when he's constantly compared to lyrical tyrants.

K Dot can spit but he's outclassed on this. And I thought Hov was on the verge of being washed after MCHG outside of his features. But Drug Dealer's Anonymous, Seen It All on Jeezy's album, and the We Made It freestyle verse were signs that he was still godly. He finally combined the slick hustler talk with his black awareness on 4:44 :damn:

nikkas don't like to give my dude his props, but Rick Ross' Rather You Than Me is just as if not more lyrical than DAMN as well.

I liked GKMC and TPAB, but I absolutely love love love Damn. The songs crafted by Kendrick on this album are amazing. Subject matter, hooks, medoldies, production, lyrics - It Kendricks most perfect album to date. As an album whole it really destroys 444 and its not even close. Now 444 is a great project in its own right, but its it really get overhyped because Jay stepped out of "element" technically with the subject matter. But at the end the day people just want to dikkride Beyonce husband because Jay is a reminder of the past. And you still have a ton of 30+ year old rappers living that pipe dream of making it as rappers. There are 40 year old rappers out there still trying to live this dream as well. For those cats Jay gives them a glimmer of hope for the future.

I grew up with this hiphop shyt and I have been critical of Kendrick in the past for
'doin too much" on a record. But with DAMN he mastered the craft. Its a beautiful piece of work. It will go down as history as one of the greats albums of its time. 444 is probably Jay 3 best album. Kudos for Jay for switching it up. But I'm not giving him credit for subject matter Nas, Pac, Killer Mike, Public Enemy and Krs one have already spoke on. :manny:

Most of yall just easily impressed.
If you really needed Jay to show you the importance of credit :usure: You lost a long time ago.

I'd probably say DAMN but my only problem with it is that I really need to chill and listen to the whole thing like a movie.
There's also two skippable tracks on DAMN but at this point I'd still have it 1 bump over 4:44.

However, we'll see in some months that might change cause DAMN really doesn't get any plays from me anymore. But then again I've seen many wack movies more times than I've seen classics like Shawshank Redemption.

Jay sounds too vulnerable and pacified on 4:44 for my liking. DAMN.

this is how i feel too, i was never a kendrick fan but when i heard Humble when it dropped i was like ok i need to keep an ear out for the new album and i was blown away , it really moved me and this is coming from someone that use to laughh at people that would tell me kendrick and j cole are the best new rappers , as a whole album Damn is one of the best crafted albums in the last few years

jay gets alot of hype every time he drops something but i feel like after a few weeks people stop caring, after a month people stopped caring about Magna carter

4:44 easily, the album resonated with me alot more.

I feel like DAMN was made for hipsters and suburbanites whilst jayzs album was made specifically for black folks.
nikka what? Dont get me wrong, I dont really like Kendrick's White fans cause theyre extremely obnoxious and preachy as fukk, but how can you say a song like Fear or Lust was made for suburbanites. That was Black soul music. And XXX, I dunno even know what that was it was way the fukk out there though...

I think that accusation is a lot more accurate for something like 4 Your Eyez Only.
