Maybe. But it's there and it's been constantly brought up as a tactic by the other side. Ignoring it isn't working. This issue is extremely unpopular and they need to acknowledge that
I think it wouldn't matter nearly as much if they focused on helping the working class

Well probably never know, since they won't, and will instead shift right on culture issues

And also not even trying to get Black ppl back up to the gains we lost

The trouble with the Republicans are talking about it, so rebuke it, is that they're always talking about stupid shyt

I fully agree with you here, especially the first part. It exposes a fundamental issue with how Dems are branded. I expect things to change soon given what's happened.

And you're right, these are all distractions from actual issues that people are facing - which Left principles have answers to. But they need to not be afraid to tap into the uncomfortable side of it. Say what you want about MAGA but they tapped into the emotional side of it, as heinous and evil as that seems...

Look at the Luigi thing - you obviously don't have to endorse murder - but the eat-the-rich sentiment exists across the divide, and folks like Bernie been speaking on it for DECADES. People would flock to a younger more charismatic person doing that - with a sense of humor and who's unafraid of a microphone

I think the Dems would rather die as a party than to turn off the corporate/big donor faucet. Sad but the two party system is married to capitalism.

think the biggest issue is that most information people get about the Democrats platform is from the GOP. Republicans gonna push this trans thing REGARDLESS of what the DNC platform is because it works for them. It's no different than CRT...had nothing to do with the Dems but it was successful at riling up voters.

Trying to out-bigot Republicans isn't a good strategy. As long as the GOP controls social media, whatever Dems do is pointless.

I think the Democrats need to hire a team of social media experts and find some popular streamers before anything else.

And low key legacy media as well just look at what jeff bezos is doing with the Washington post :mjpls:

If this old video exists and Republicans are beating you over the head with it in the present you have to do something to counter their point. You can't just ignore it and act like it doesn't exist. That seemed to be the strategy and it didn't work.
100. All the misinformation drowns out literally everything they do for people so they gonna have to figure out how to counter in a way that resonates and speaks volumes. It's a tall task cause the legacy media is complicit in the bs too. But they gonna have to figure out a way

Well then they deserve to die. The Everton window has shifted to Trump winning the way he did, having the current admin he has, and openly supporting Russia. This was previously unimaginable for the GOP ten years ago, but here we are.

Dems need to evolve, badly. Some of what Carville saying about letting MAGA hang themselves is true, but more of the same isn't going to make them miss you

They need to be what they used to be before Clinton turning the party Republican lite. A working family party that's a check on corporate greed and is anti-foreign intervention. Holding these two pillars up would allow them to be socially liberal and the electorate not caring.
But even if they abruptly switched now, it would take a decade to get the trust back. Sad state of affairs.

So what exactly do you think the Dems should do? Bash trans people and immigrants more to try to win Trump voters?

It's not bashing, why is it bashing to say that you don't get everything you want? It's saying you fully accept them as people and that you stand against disrespect, but certain points need to be clarified.

They can't dictate basic social norms being 1% of the population - didn't you smh a bit when you heard Biden say LatinX? It doesn't exist offline

Again, Republicans control the media and people get their information about Dem positions from them.

Unless the Dems are going to be more hostile to those groups than the GOP, Republicans will portray Democrats as super pro-trans or pro-illegal immigrant regardless of their actual platform.

Look at CRT. Had nothing to do with any Dem policy and Republicans still ate well off of anti-CRT mania because of the media.

So wait.

The Democrats are wrong if they do nothing

The Democrats are wrong if they try to figure out what went wrong.

And this is clearly not as simple a problem as 'LOL Dems'. The people chose culture wars over the economy clearly. So to make this about the economy is short sighted especially with Donald Trump trying to tank it.
Americans are racist?
proxy-image

This is an absolutely groundbreaking revelation, a Nobel Prize-worthy insight! Clearly, the only logical conclusion is for the Democrats to pack it up and dissolve the party entirely because, as you've astutely observed, they'll never win anything ever again. Amazing analysis.
For some reason people keep thinking Trump voters can be won back with economic benefits :dead: despite proving otherwise every election

We gotta leave these "economic anxiety" arguments in 2016 and admit that Trump's rise is and always was mostly about white supremacy
They dont have to win any Trump voters, they have to win back their base they alienated with genocide and corporate bootlicking. They lost twice as many voters as the GOP gained

I get what you're saying and it's true. It's a conundrum lol

I'll just say that Dems need to be brave on messaging and not afraid of ruffling feathers. They need to shake the label of being the p*ssyfoot party...
