I mentioned this during the Rae discussion but I just don’t think these older artists gravitate to the shyt we think is dope in this era. That beat for You Ma Friend is god awful but honestly I think Ghost heard that and thought it was similar to All I Got Is You. An emotional track he can open up on. And oh btw it was cheap and the guy who produced it records Ghost for cheap at his studio lol. That’s the calculation being done IMO.

I’ll give Ghost credit for having Conway on the record. But clearly he wasn’t trying to pay for Conductor or Daringer beats, and we’re never gonna get the record we think these artists (Rae, Ghost, Jada, AZ, etc) are still capable of making.
And what's crazy to think about, I bet you some of those producers would probably give Ghost beats for free or do a project with him and just split streaming and everything else.

It makes sense that this album used to have the subtitle ‘Blue & Cream: The Wally Era’ given that the shoe became popular in the 80s, and this album has a throwback to the 80s theme. Suggests the theme was thought of a long time ago.

There was a thread on WuCorp Forum about Ghost‘s many extracurricular business pursuits, getting into NFTs, his Killah Koffee line, etc. and I posted:

[Ghost’s pre-loved pubic wigs.

Distributed by some random Dutch company.

Nonsensical pricing options

Accompanied by an NFT-only single called ‘Split Ya Wig’]

Now I see this interview of him talking about pubic hair, and I think I might have inspired the God.

I see Nicholas Craven on twitter calling SC2 the rap AOTY lol. I'm not even a Craven fan (he has beats I like but is super regressive/repetitive), nor do I want to hear Ghost on some drumless loops at this stage of his career but clearly producers in the current underground vein would want to work with Ghost (and Rae). And while many of those guys would charge him, I'd imagine some would be cool to take less just to be on a Ghost project. The problem remains that I don't think he fukks with a lot of stuff we fukk with but if you heap a bunch of dope shyt on him he's gonna pick something eventually.

I will say

I do find it funny that the same people who were calling for ghost to produce the wu album when big doe rehab dropped next to 8d, find this very big doe rehab like album to now to be wack.

Its a decent listen with some strong tracks. Shouldnt be called 2 tho if ya not really go all in on that time. Not upset at it or anything tho.

People doubted rae could do it at 30. I didnt expect ghost to at 50+ but i did expect a few nutmeg esque joints at very least not gon lie.

I’ve listened to it 14 times now. I actually put it over Rae’s album, which I liked a lot.

I can’t even be mad at it being called Supreme Clientele 2 any more, as it made me pay more critical attention to it than I might have done otherwise.

Guess the name did its job in that respect, and I’ll not be the only one.

I was lukewarm on it at first but over time I've realised it’s a great album.

this is the big issue. it does not live up to the OG at all, but it's a good ghost album if you remove that comparison. especially given some of his recent material.
