What was the treatment and recovery time?

First the doctor gave me oral anti-inflammatories but that didn't work.

So, they eventually had to shot some type of anti-inflammatories in my lower back to bring down the swelling.

I've been fine ever since.

that shyt was super temporary for me would only help for a day or 2, I got it like 4 to 5 times. It wasn’t until I got the epidural where it fixed my ass up.

I would see a back doctor If I am OP, get an MRI and go to physical therapy so they can show you exactly what to do. Depending on where the pain is in your back there are different causes and certain stretches will help you. The wrong stretch will lock your shyt right up. Listening to a friend who told me to do a stretch and it took my back completely out pain went from a 6 to a got damn 10. Sciatica kicked in something series pain shot down all the way to my feet.

That’s why I recommend ice packs until you can see someone, it helps. Doctor will subscribe you a shot in the back right then and there to get rid of pain for a minute. If it’s a muscle you good if it’s a disc then you have a journey ahead of you breh.

Sometime oral steroids can work but it didn’t for me.

Your core is probably weak, so for starters do some ab exercises and standing back extensions

Start stretching, lose some weight if you're obese or overweight because that's less weight for your back
to support

Try not to sleep on your stomach if your bed is very soft, you could be compressing your already inflamed discs or muscles

Them shots have such a low success rate, that’s why most end up needing more

It may be weak but if he’s tore scar tissue or actually thrown the vertebral body off it’s normal position core won’t help, and usually that’s the least of the issues

I'm lucky enough to have never had back pain and hoping to keep it that way as long as possible. Don't ask me to help lift shyt

My condolences to threadstarter, I've seen family members go thru it with the back pain stuff. Probably best to just see a back pain specialist and get some xrays done.

hell naw it wasn’t, I was bullshytting the first time on getting that shyt. I was scared I would move and end up getting paralyzed during the procedure. Until one day that pain got so unbearable I was like fuk it let’s do it.

Let me tell you about the shyt, I will say this the room felt like I was in a damn alien space ship. Hospital was brand new and everything was state of the art. Big ass perfect circular room with a metal bed directly in the middle, huge monitors so they can see in your spine. Big ass X-ray machine thing directly over top of you, all kinds of monitors. I walked in like :gladbron:. Whoever designed that shyt they did they thing.

They introduce you to the team of doctors it was like 4 or 5 of them each have there role. Then they lay your ass face down so you can’t see the needles and instruments that’s going to be using to dig in yo shyt. I was like hell naw I want to see it, they like you sure? I’m like damn right turned around and huge metal needles and crazy looking shyt :picard:, this stuff makes the dentist look like child’s play. doc like “don’t worry I got this, we do this all the time it’s worse than it looks.” Your going to be just fine, you shouldn’t feel pain but it may feel uncomfortable” They started the procedure I’m laying there ready :unimpressed: then I felt this jolt of what felt like electricity in damn back :sadcam: I move a little bit , Doc like  don’t move. I am feeling a burning tingly feeling that just like he said feels uncomfortable is hell. He says you may be in heavy pain the first few hours then things should start to quickly get better. Man I walked into the appointment with a limp and walked out in a damn wheel chair:dahell:but just like he said the next day I could feel a noticeable improvement and then a few days later I was pain free. :krs:

The only "doctors" actively promoting someone go to a chiropractor are chiropractors. While I do think chiropractors can do some good, they practice alot of pseudoscience. Real talk.

People having true back issues should see an orthopedic surgeon first if conventional methods have failed. Anyone with a possible back injury should NOT be seeing a chiropractor until all of the appropriate imaging and evaluation has been done by an MD.

No offense
