Can we get a rock historian in here though to talk about how he got heat by the people's elbow?

Has the Rock ever won the WWE title with that move? I can't think of any?

Yeah, but you know how Punk is with HHH. I don't think he respected him at all, but that's just me.

Punk fell into the classic smark trap of convincing themselves HHH only got a push by marrying into the family, and then took that approach to how he interacted with the guy who was his boss. Who could have guessed that didn't work out the way he wanted it to.

We are talking about a different generation of fans. Older fans wouldn't run up to Punk, because Social Media wasn't around back in the day. You would have to be a serious person in the industry to know the dirt, or just have magazines. These days with Forums and Twitter, people feel like they are friends with Punk just because they follow him. So they pull out their Smartphones and rush him for pictures.

True, but HBK was kept humble by Taker. If he stepped over the line he would get beaten up. In this day in age, who would beat up Punk on the current Roster; it can't be Taker, HHH. You need someone who wrestles on the high card that could take him in the back and dust him up.
Punk kept the slick comments about part time Brock to an absolute minimum:laugh:

Lol yeah he would always be like "Brock is great, I love Brock, we get along, he's great" while relentlessly bytching about the Taker/Rock/HHH group of part timers that probably wouldn't beat the shyt out of him.

Beat the shyt out of him? Rock is too rich to give a fukk about some guy barely standing out in 2011:laugh:

That heel run to cap off the year long reign was Punk's best work in my opinion. He even got Rock off his game a couple of times (that strip naked line :mjlol:). You could really feel the frustration emanating from his pores during each promo. Amazing he held that championship for longer than anyone in recent memory and it's basically a footnote in history five years later.
Rock was actually pretty solid through the rest of their feud so i dont see where your frustration stuff comes from. With the exception from a few Rock lines that fell flat in the first promo and Punks boring ass promo he cut before Rock came out that night. It was a good back and forth that played to each man's abilities. I remember on Smackdown before Rumble, Rock got the better of Punk on the mic in a good serious promo. So they played it 50/50. Plus they got physical a couple of times.

It was a much more enjoyable feud than Rock/Cena imo. (Even though Rock/Cena's 2nd feud was an upgrade imo in terms of promos) I just hated all the smarks who were on Rocks ass during those years.

I still was surprised at the bad chemistry between the Rock and CM Punk's match. I had assumed their match would be better than Rock/Cena, yet it turned out to be almost Raven vs Regal at Invasion bad.
