Movies like Terminator and games like call of duty are just games and movies, fiction. Whether rick ross is real or not people think he is and young dudes look up to him and make bad decisions because of just some music. The music industry as a whole is a tool used by people in power to control, manipulate and keep us all down. When those moms in the 80's said heavy metal was the devil and these rockers are putting hidden backward messages in songs, no different than hip hop industry imo. There are certain things that only happen with people in Hip Hop, but the general idea is all the same just apply this to black people and apply heavy metal, grundge etc to white people.

It had such a big influence on white people that I am sure there was a conspiracy to take hip hop off course like government shuts down any thing or anyone they see a threat (black panthers, john lennon etc). Imagine how scared white people in power were when run dmc and p.e and nwa was selling out arenas filled with white faces? Im white but ill keep it real rich powerful white men do not want any possibility of any other skin color getting in a position of power. Thats what the whole new world order shyt is really about.

I will say this, the youth seems to be more loss, dumb, fukked up, and spineless now more than ever. I wonder if kids are more fukked up today from this garbage or were they more impacted when hip hop first came out.

In regards to the highlighted and bolded, it won't matter. America is becoming tanned. Similar to Brazil... I'm seeing more and more mixed kids nowadays than I have ever seen.

The main thing is making sure these kids identify their black roots and not turn on their people; and recognizing that they are still "black".

random observation.. i'm 29, i don't really congregate with kids much anymore unless its a family function and i'm around all my nut ass little cousins and shyt. threw a party this weekend at my crib, fam came out, and fortunately or unfortunately they all consider me young so they speak freely around me. every other word out these lil 17-18 year olds mouths was "thot", "opp", "lean", "trap, etc.... smh. are the youngins in your area on the same shyt? lol, i had no idea it was this ratchet out there with the shorties. how can anybody fix their lips to say rap music doesn't have a negative influence on the babies?

Because every sub-culture has its
own slang and attire.
I think actually I'm certain many of you
have never attempted talking to or relating
to people of different walks of life.


Spend sometime around metal or punk kids
you'll likely walk away just as confused what with all the slang and in jokes that permeates

It does. That's why you have to raise strong minded kids who think for themselves and don't follow everything everyone else is doing. I grew up in a religious household, but banged rap on the low since I was 12. I always knew the shyt I was listening to was just music. Of course it represented real shyt but I knew my parents would kick my ass if I took part in any of that foolishness. My son can listen to rap all he wants when he's older but I'll try to keep the vulgar shyt from him while he's little. And teach him to be independent and a leader not a follower.

change is made from the inside out. the rappers, specifically the luminaries and the elder statesmen (26+), need to lead the charge.. c delores tucker and calvin butts aint "cool" to anybody, its easy to make them the enemy and to make them seem like the bitter aunts and uncles... no kid is following their lead. why can't jay-z or diddy or russell simmons gather all the rappers together and set a goal, to make being smart and being peaceful and being respectful of others "cool"? imagine if everything negative and destructive wasn't cool, can you even grasp that concept? imagine if lean and pills and objectifying women and being a gangsta and smoking a thousand blunts and selling dope was "square". The beats can remain the same, the bars, the cadences, the swag, etc... just a change of message, is that so unthinkable? I can honestly say that rap is far and away the biggest misuse/waste of power and influence in the history of mankind. with the influence this culture has over the youth I don't think it's far-fetched to say that rap and rappers could change the world, why not change it for the better?

There are kids who grew up in the "hip-hop generation" who are doctors and lawyers today. You're talking out your ass point-blank.
