Best advice in the thread. He knows whats up

ehhhh there's a lot of right and a lot of wrong up in here.

AF basic may as well be summer camp and they all know it.

Army - you're gonna wish someone would just punch you in the stomach instead of all the dumb shyt that's gonna be thrown your way.
Marines - you're gonna need a real workout plan because you're gonna get broke off. Everyone is infantry in the marines, no matter what your job description is.
Coast Guard - :sadcam:. don't sleep. this is the hardest of all the branches by far. not only will you wait years to get in, but you'll probably fail out regardless :russ:
Navy - i ain't about that 200 men at sea life:beli:

You can get cussed at. You might get exposed by people realer than you, trainees and instructors alike. I thought I was the shyt in my basic til my whole platoon found out that the guy sleeping across from me was one of the first responders during 9/11 (low key :mjpls:) and this one BAD puerto rican drill sergeant...

the ass was preposterous brehs

turns out she had some MEAN burns on her legs from the waste down from being stuck in rocketed vehicle during OEF. She hated chump females with a passion and had our girls workin round the clock :salute:

But two things really. Make sure your knees can take some heavy, extended running and rucking/backpacking. You'll be doing it a lot. All you heavy people... you will probably die. :demonic:

But most importantly - Never be put in a leadership position ever. Avoid responsibility like Zoe Saldana avoids Black men. Be invisible like Peyton in the Super Bowl. Quiet like a Big Sean album release party. When you bring attention to yourself, you become a target. You become a target, you get remembered. You get remembered, people wake up thinking about you - and fukkin with you becomes their only reason to wake up in the morning. Do not be that guy.

*also don't fall in love with some basic thot:childplease:

:laff:

But yo. can you elaborate on this point more.

I remember I was browsing this military webcomic site (I think it was this website, not absolutely certain but it looks like the one : http://terminallance.com/) where the dude would talk a little bit about his military days. He basically said that in the position where you are high enough on the food chain where nobody will fukk with you, but low enough so that you aren't really responsible for anything and can kinda just kick back and relax.

I ain't high siding but when I made SFC that's how it was and now that I'm a SFC (P) it's even less...I literally probably only work 2-3 hours...But my homeboy is the worst sometimes hell only come in on Monday and Friday.

Oh I see.

Yeah, I think you're right. He was talking more about how to game the system after you're out of boot camp....

Brehs, what is the racial reality of the military? I know that's a wide ranging way to put the topic, I did that purposefully as I just kinda want whatever y'all can throw at me.

My assumption has always been that most black dudes in the military were some stuffy, Allan West types of dudes.

Do brothas "stick together" or is it "every man for himself" or "squad before identity" or, etc etc etc?

Do people talk about these kinds of topics?

Their are a lot of positive brothers/conscious in the military but you will also find a shyt load of c00ns especially in the AF...

It's kind of a. Every man for himself deal since we pcs so much...But that is also why the Freemasons are huge as well.

It's easy. Putting up with other folks bs is the hardest part. Cool ass Jewish kid from my OSUT use to take acid to stay up during bivouacs and shyt. Towards the tail end I use to flirt with one of my drills wife. Not my fault she use to always walk thru the drill pad in sports bras and tights :yeshrug: I knew dude wanted to fukk me up for saying slick shyt

The Truth
:stopitslime: Impossible...what'd you do just get your waist taped? I know you didn't run either 1.5 miles or 2 miles on a broke leg.
nikka, I had fractures in BOTH legs and ran that shyt... On painkillers... And I was always in the middle of the pack. I played command flag football, basketball, and soccer with it too

They kept telling me it was just shin splints, I ran almost 8 months with fractures. It wasn't until I kept complaining to my doctor and they finally did a MRI did i find out. Doing that shyt fukked up everything.
