Exactly.

I'm not taking either side, but what I do know is a)those players who are boycotting don't know everything either b)judging by the comments in this thread and thread title, the Coli is a forum that supports rape culture.

Why are you singling out my post when most of the posts in this thread think those players are heroes for boycotting despite knowing fukk all?

Who knows more about what happened in that room, you or the players?

Exactly what I said and these dudes acting like they dont get it.

Like a bunch of random folk are gonna feel outraged that some dudes ran a train and got suspended for it.'

Act like players protesting for their freedom to run trains are civil rights heroes brehs :skip:

:usure:

Bruh, people were becoming outraged because men couldn't use the women's bathroom. This damn near looks like Selma compared to that bulls**t:russ:

Just dont understand why the school would suspend the players:
Are trains against the ethics code at UM? If so, what constitutes a train? Do we think its fair that a school is trying to police sexual acts between (presumably) consenting adults?

These schools are really fukking up. There's a kid that went to Colorado state that just got expelled and the girl herself said there was no rape.

Basically dude had MULTIPLE sexual encounters with one of the teams trainers. He took her on a date to the movies and when they pulled up to her apartment she gave him head in the parking lot. Apparently one of her roommates saw it and she was a bit embarrassed. A couple days later she invited him back to her apartment and they had sex. She even told him she wasn't on birth control and he should wear a condom. Then the next day her friend saw a hickey on her neck and some how came to the conclusion that she was raped and reported it to the school. Then the next day an investigation happened in which she told the guy that she told the investigators that he was a good guy and there was no rape. That same day she said she told investigators that, she went to his apartment and had sex with him AGAIN. The guy's roommate said he opened the door and saw the encounter take place and she was on top of him [smh at the peeping ass rommate].

Some way some how after all of this they still expelled him, because at one point on their 2nd sexual encounter before he put on condom, he may or may have not penetrated her [he says he didn't and she says he did, however even with her saying he did, she said she told him to stop which he did, he put on a condom and she was cool with continuing].

KSTP Exclusive: 80-Page Report Outlines U of M Investigation into Gophers Football Players

I listened to the reporter of the story do an interview on my way home. Just a fukking mess. One of the first two kids to have sex with this girl was a 17 year old recruit from Florida :snoop:

There are at least 3 players who didn't have sex with her and might not have even been in the building at the time all this was happening.

They also talked about a change in how the Department of Justice changed some wording in on campus rape claims that the accused has a "preponderance of evidence" to overturn it which they said lawyers warned against that because of shyt like this when a bunch of people start getting pulled in and they are forced to have evidence that clears them. This is all very fukked up. Everybody involved is getting fukked over just by how poorly all this has gone down.

Only people they're winning over are TheColi :russ: These guys are gonna get flamed in the court of public opinion. I bet they give up soon and possibly even face more sanction for the stunt.

Dude reading statement was all grim and serious like he was reading hostage demands. "Enough is Enough" :mjlol:

Are you serious? So cats getting suspended over something immoral instead of illegal is cool with you? No charges filed, they should be able to play. Administration may not be a fan of orgies, but it ain't illegal.

One, that isnt right on many levels.

Two, and this is critical, when someone is being sexually assaulted they often don't put up any fight. They are distant and away from the moment.

I dont know what happened there, and unfortunately we never will know. But I don't like using that as a reason.
This is actually a case where it seems that they have a right to be upset. The problem in these cases is that people either don't believe women or blindly believe them. Then, there's the third group who says they don't know but is ultimately okay with whatever happens to these guys. This is something where you have to pick a side and it's obvious what the problem is. These students no longer reciever due process. Would you say, I don't know what happened if someone was accused of rape, never allowed a representative, stood in front of body that favors the accuser, was only able to appeal to that same body and was ultimately stripped of their chance at an education and their reputation by a preponderance of evidence standard? That is what is happening in these college cases. The process alone very nearly invalidates any decision. And I don't just mean on behalf of the accuser. Some schools follow no protocols at all and are heavily biased against the accuser. I have cousins who play D 1 sports that have had white chicks start saying crazy shyt and then renege only because their feeling were hurt. This deserves more than "we don't know." We don't know should equal that no one is punished not that we casually walk away and say they should have not put themselves in that decision. This is when liberal people with good intentions end up undermining themselves. If these guys were proven innocent by all these other bodies, how does the school then decide to terminate them for engaging in the same behavior as every other college student? People need to step away from social justice buzz words and think critically.

They should be suspended for having sex? :jbhmm:

What kind of slippery slope shyt is that?

They didn't even have enough evidence to face criminal actions.

Also it sounds like nikkas got suspended just for being around (in the building) while the gangbang (:steviej:) was taking place.

I for one don't even understand the concept of trains. Get your own bytch nikka.

I work on a college campus, student affairs office.

First of all, most survivors don't report on their assault taking place.

Second, universities would like to not have this stuff goto the police.

Third, your campus reputation may go down IF people find out about it because shyt is done in confidence. Because it stays internal and in confidence, you may legitimately be working with someone who raped some one.

D1 college athletes definitely have a different esteem because they are more visible. If a player is suspended we can find out why versus regular students.

The problem, and this is where our patriarchal rape culture comes into play, most of the victims of sexual assault on college campuses do not report. Those that do report, do not name the person who did it for fear of their own reputation and retaliation from the campus community.

In this, none of us know the details. Zero. The problem is both sides want to go to one extreme or the other.

Also what I listed is what tends to happen to victims of sexual assault. They shut down and go into survival mode and dissociate themselves from what is happening.

We, on this forum, are so concerned about the accused that we forget that there are many more who are victims. You can say liberal or progressive thinkers or whatever. I'm a human being with sisters, nieces, a mom, and a girlfriend. I care about that.

I also care about fighting for real issues. Fighting so your suspended teammates who are accused of gang raping someone is not the moment to take a stand on injustice. It's disgusting, and I am disgusted and saddened that these players are and that this forum predictably is.

This is dumb (the suspension, not the boycott). Our society doesn't know what to do with morality so we make it up as we go in lieu of common sense.

So lets run this back... the story so far as I understand it

-A lady (student) had consensual sex with a number of players on the team
-She was fine with the sex, as were they
-Someone found out and brought it to the attention of the School
-Both sides (girl and school) decided to hushhush as it was consensual
-However some faculty put pressure on the AD
-The AD suspended 10 players per the conduct policy of the university

If i'm a player, I would demand to be shown where having consensual sex was against the ethics policy of the school

The stupidest thing about this as if she had sex with each of those guys but put a week in between sessions instead of a few seconds, this would be a non-story.

If this is the case, :wtf:

So no rape was involved?
