Peace Be Unto you all!
The name given to me by my mother is Rasheed
"The guide to the right path"
And though I am not currently a practicing Muslim, Islam is always in my heart.
I would like to observe Ramadan to bring myself closer to the creator and to tighten up on my organization as well as fitness and to overall improve focus and application of acquired knowledge. STARTS Tomorrow? Well I guess I'm all in brothers and sisters...one question am I allowed to drink water during the day?

No brother. No food/drink until sunset. Best of luck!

Salam, Rasheed. Firstly, it's great to see another brother taking on the responsibility! As one of the Five Pillars it's really part of the core of our Faith and will strengthen your resolve well after the month is over.

To answer your question, rules dictate no food or water (or any drinking) from dawn to dusk.

No, no water or eating

it sounds tough but it's easily doable brother!

If you want more knowledge about Islam please dont feel shy, check out your local mosque I guarantee the imam will be glad to help you and will give you correct and accurate information!

Most importantly, take things slow, dont jump in and force yourself. Do what makes you comfortable. If you feel you cant fast dont feel ashamed (this is probably the toughest month to fast)

But at the same time dont underestimate your own willpower and discipline. Billions of impoverished individuals go through this same struggle 365 days of the year :mjcry: We can do a month surely.

And you can go to the mosque when it's time to break the fast (iftar) and they will give you food for free (Thats how it is at most mosques I believe, it might depend though)

but yeah if you have any questions check out your local mosque :blessed:

Just the thought of committing myself to this challenge has the hairs standing on my neck and head...a feeling I associate with spiritual communication...Im a little unsure that I can complete this task but I will put those negative thoughts behind me and have confidence in knowing that I Self Law and Master can do anything we (elohim) will help each other....Peace and Power!

baby, that was the old me
nothing has power besides Allah :blessed:

reminds me of a story

In the time of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) a solar eclipse occurred. People superstitiously attributed its occurrence to the death of Ibrahim, son of the Prophet (peace be upon him). They said that Ibrahim’s death, which coincidentally happened in the same day of the solar eclipse, blocked out the sun.

What did the prophet (peace be upon him) say to them? The Prophet’s (peace be upon him) response was: “The sun and the moon are two signs amongst the signs of Allah. They do not eclipse because of someone's death or life. So when you see them, invoke Allah and pray

:wow:

this is what monotheism is all about brehs

The crazy thing is Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) could have agreed with the people and it would've actually helped him gain more followers. If he said that it was a miracle of Allah that the eclipse coincided the same day as prophet Ibrahim death .... But he didn't.

He was always truthful :mjcry:

he couldve been the richest man if he wanted but he died with no wealth, everything he had he gave to charity :mjcry:

During his return from the visit, the Messenger (saw) cried. The companions said, “What makes you cry, Oh Messenger of Allah?” He said, “I miss my brothers.” They said : “Are we not your brothers, Oh Messenger of Allah?” He said, “No, you are my Companions. My brothers are those who will come after me and they believe in me without seeing me.”

thats us brehs (and sisters) .... :mjcry:
