yup, i mean i look in my closet right now and i have like 50 fitted hats I bought for 30 a piece when I was in hs/college. I don't even fitted hats anymore thats 1,500 i could have put to good use

Exactly, that 1,500, if invested back then, could easily have been worth 4,500 today. I feel men in this nation are being brainwashed to essentially become fashionistas. I'll start posting some of this older literature just so we can cover a wider view of what men are actually supposed to be doing.

Cats need to start learning things like how to buy stocks, how to buy bonds, how to buy properties, how to make contingency plans, to start thinking of business plans, etc.

How much should a broke newbie have to start off with stocks?

Right now, I'm not invested in stocks because I am somewhat concerned about the direction of our economy, but what you should do is buy a kindle and start garnering a financial education about yourself. Before investing in the stock-market, have a liquid, rainy-day fund of maybe $3,000. Once you get that, you can set aside the next bits of money for your future business, or if you absolutely must be in the market, go to index funds... but honestly, I see too many fundamental problems with this country for me to invest in stocks right now. I'd rather keep my money liquid.

Before you do any kind of investing though, your key should be to pay off all your debts, especially high-interest credit card debt. There's no sense in investing if you have 10 -20% credit card interest going against you. You will actually come out behind by not paying your interest-bearing loans.

So first things first is to work on your foundation, which will be to completely eliminate what debt you have and start saving for your rainy-day fund.

Hey brehs. After 2 years and some months me and my lady split today. Her reason: she wants to figure out life for herself. She also said she wanted to break up with me last summer but her mother died and I was there for her so she just let me stay. Now she getting over it, she wants to go our separate ways. And for a micro-second I was sad but then I thought about it:

1) She didn't want a family. RED FLAG :merchant:

2) She always wanted to chase her friends :beli:

3) Im about to be 30, single, with a decent job and the world is mine. She is on the wrong side of 25 and it only going to be down hill for her.

Her best friend is a 37 year old single female who dresses like a 19 yr old. :skip:

I dunno how this lasted even 2 years :snoop:

Here's something to ponder. You need to take the time and do what will help you over the LONG-TERM.

In other words, don't spend all your money on nonsense like shoes and clothes. That's not to say to dress bummy or to not enjoy yourself, but think about this. What happened to all of those 'hot' clothes that you spent a fortune on? They are essentially junk now because they are out of fashion. Dudes spent thousands on Ed Hardy or Throwback Jerseys and now they can't give that stuff away. If they would have invested those thousands, it would probably be worth tens of thousands today.

This is to say, that while you should be presentable, you have to set limits for your pleasure indulgences, which is also part and parcel of 'principle'. When's the last time you seen a 35 year old or 40 year old dude that was just stunting in the latest 'hot fashion', and you wanted to be like that? You probably thought he needs to settle his old butt down.

You will definitely appreciate the flexibility that having a large bin of savings and responsible financial habits will give you in the future. For example, do you hate your job? If so, would you rather be in a position where you could take months off with no real worries because you have massive savings, or do you want to be stuck where you are at because all of your net worth is invested in items which have no real value?

I'm going to start posting about aspects other than women in this thread. We can only talk about women for so long before we start saying the same things over and over. What we really need to be talking about is how to conduct yourself as a man and how to sharpen yourself up to create something sustainable for the long-term.

Go for it...I tried to educate everyone beyond the female thing...but it didn't pick up steam...there is so much more that can be added that will take this thread to another level

It's gravy bruh.. you're free to get back to enjoying life now. Never trip over them. Now you see how all of those little signs start adding up.

What trips me out is women always talk some nonsense about 'discovering themselves', but it won't ever be in the Bible, with some philosophy or none of that.... I need to go to the club to really find myself.
