If a man has the ability to own a gun he should. Everyone at the gun range is strapped. Cacs are more likely to shoot themselves at the gun range than you.

But also depends on how you invited the woman out. You should never ask them but tell them. During the conversation you say hey let's go to such and such on Friday...if that day doesn't work then they'll suggest a day that does and you can play that how you want.

Spent most of a week with someone who was leaving to go back home and had a really memorable time, she was a very spoiled woman from a rich family, who has spent years just living off her parents. She was also a lot of fun, and very romantic, and a lot of other things I lust after.
The amount of social media algospeak that has come to be the language of our times wasn't surprising, but some of it is so extreme and so insane, and these women (and men) are just repeating it like it's gospel truth. This girl must have said provide and protect a dozen times. "We need to go back to the 1950's". But this actually is what kind of sparked our first interaction and we went from there. I starting talking about how weird romance and dating has got, and we both had different positions, but a common ground. She was damn close to saying women don't need any rights, they just need a man to provide.
She also spent about 15 minutes one night showing me her instagram, which was hot, (lots of posing in expensive designer) but also really underlined how much time these women are spending in their phones creating this digital life. She also was telling me how she loved that I was a man, and sent me this whole meme thing about it, which is always flattering but it's also like an impossible bar to clear. Like NO ONE could consistently live up to those expectations for very long because that's not how human behavior works.

The thing is a lot of these people don't have any concept of history. That's the danger of short form video intake. I'm not like a scholar, but I was telling her that the 1950's were just a 10 year period, set against the backdrop of the post war boom, and the GI bill and a lot of other things. It was a unique moment in history. Just like each decade before and after.
I said some shyt like I was pretty sure the early 1900's and the late 18th century were pretty rough for women, like the claim stakers or whatever they were called, frontier people, settlers. The women had to do a whole lot of shyt. It wasn't a soft life at all. It was like cattle farming and chopping wood, milking cows, taking care of kids with malaria all kinds of crazy shyt, like the Oregon trail.
But also, between her and I, it was the classic definition of romance two very different people, with different opinions, who connected regardless of all that.
