I only have like one real homie who is of similar predicaments (just got out of a relationship too and knew him since kindergarten ) Everybody else I grew up with got baby mothers and kids, and my college friends that moved here moved out.

I guess I can play solo but I feel like that's weird as shyt in NYC. No but I'm not ugly and I'm in shape etc I never cold approached and it worked though. Only hobbies I have right now is BJJ and the gym and this hotel I study at in LES (all type of awkward to talk to women) Like BJJ I see I caught like 2 girl's eyes but wth we're literally dry humping

I Would spend 2022 rebuilding as a man and learning to be alone, and then early 2023 doing passive dating just cause you may be rusty talking with women, but let Summer 2023 be show time.

When me and my ex first started dating I was 25 and she was 23 and she always wanted marriage and kids and I never wanted that until now.

She told me the relationship was a mistake and so I broke up with her at beginning of the covid and she went home. Even though I did not want to break it off, but how could I recover from that as a man. She came back and we started talking again but she never expressed to me until recently that she was crying, sick wanting to kill me etc. And she said I never asked to be her man again when she came back. In our absence I smashed some hinge bytches and realized it's really not shyt out here man, she claimed she went on dates but never fukked anyone and they wasn't me.

I'm 28 now and a man on some sap can't see myself without her. Her line sister set her up on a blind date with this nikka and she been smitten ever since "I guess he paid for every meal and built her a desk one time and never complained" I'm like is that the only complaint? "oh no you just never wanted marriage and kids and now you want it" she called me Lawerence from Insecure. I went to Dubai and brought this girl back diamond earrings mind you and a silk scarf.

She claims the nikka has been waiting for years to date her and all this shyt and I never talked like his before. When she first told me she would continue dating this nikka, I was sick and distraught and still am. I lost 17 pounds, been in church, waiting for my insurance to kick in February. I have been real distraught about this shyt and I don't have any male role models or mentors to talk to about this that are mature enough except my friend who's 29 with a wife and kid and is super Christian and is a father who a pastor. All my close friends my age are big gmb and I thought the same, plus I never saw that work in my life but I want to change that.

Then yesterday she said if he asks her to be his girl she's gonna say yes, but then saying I look good at the end of the call and saying she love me.

I think this nikka slightly makes more money and I been about that too, like I'm actively studying for sec +, I have no kids, I'm about to get my own place next year in NY, B.A. degree, but she looks at social media and sees shyt and feel like I should be ahead I guess. I'm literally like the savior of my family though, nobody else has even come close to this meanwhile she comes from 2 parent's both college grads.

you need to make this journey solo. Often times we use our friends as a crutch, but as a man your journey to figuring out who you are has to be done alone. Your friends won't be there forever and at the end of the day when you die, only you will be in that grave thus you need to find yourself by yourself. Friends and family help make our journey easier but at your stage you cant use them as a crutch, because they can influence you and you end up making decisions that truly are what YOU want.

I've been through heartbreak before and was big gmb and on some fukk bytches get money when we broke up but then I realized a lot of women I was meeting was lame, then she starting seriously considering this guy shyt woke me up and had me going through it.

I know the vibes I was given off is corny and off putting whatever, but that's why I'm here to learn. I know I have to be a man and not put women first on the list, know I have to get better with life etc.

3. Sound advice, I lost 23 pounds being depressed I always worked out and was 198 now I'm 175 on keto. Toned, but lost a lot of weight to the point most of my clothes look like 90's wear. It got to the point where I was so down bad I wouldn't even eat man.
I'm in the bjj and I like it and I'm meeting new friends and people from all walks of life but with this Omricon shyt idk. But you 100% on soul search and find myself as a man and rebuild.

Spend that year doing all that + some outdoor (or something outside the house, you mentioned BJJ which is cool, maybe even get into watching UFC/combat sports if you dont already, and traveling to see fights in person or at a minimum going to bars to watch the fight) hobby to keep you busy too. Pretty much keep yourself occupied but also build in self reflection time each day. Keep your phone in another room on do not disturb (add your parents or someone who may hit you for emergencies to your favorites so it only rings for them).
