I was out of town this weekend with a buddy of mine and we talked about his dating prospects and I met two of them. The one I didn't meet was his ex who broke things off with him months ago yet they still hang out every now and then even though she's unsure and she doesn't know what she wants.
One girl he's seeing I met honestly felt like one of the guys. He also felt that perhaps he couldn't really be at ease with her.
Third woman was very attentive, he seemed more at ease with her. She took him out to dinner for his birthday and bought him a thoughtful gift including a note mentioning the things she likes about him. He told me that even in his last two relationships none of these women were as attentive.
I asked him what the hang up was and we both came to the conclusion that he needs to stop hanging with his ex. Because someone doesn't see your value doesn't mean that others won't see that in you. I said go for the last girl!
Just a reminder that while some women will treat you like an appetizer or a side dish, others will treat you like the main course. I also thought that the last girl was the most attractive and feminine.

I believe at times I can come off strong. In many different ways some women have told me I'm an intense person and "serious" which is not necessarily a bad thing but in the beginning of courtship it can induce high expectations and anxiety whether intentional or unintentional.
With that said though I do believe that stating your intentions, including values and deal breakers during the early stages is important. Being that I'm "dating intentionally" I can't not mention things such as wanting kids, my views on spirituality, etc. I've noticed that has caused some women to lose interest or think I want that stuff right away. Can't win them all and that is more on me than them.
I'm still sort of tripping about a girl that was high interest that largely dipped. In hindsight I believe that the fact I mentioned kids and given her response that perhaps misaligned with what she wants or perhaps she thought I was too serious. Nothing wrong with people having different goals but it stung a bit but at the same time better to know that now than wasting a year on someone that doesn't want the same thing in life.
