This isn't meant to be condescending or preachy, or dismissing good advice, but A LOT of people hook up/sleep together/meet their girlfriends at work. At all kinds of jobs, service industry, academia, start ups, nightclubs, hotels, medical offices, dentists offices, restaurants, real estate, on and on.

There is some element of classism at hand when those discussions come up, I have never worked a job with many women, but there are many, maybe even most jobs were it's a part of the landscape.

The points of reference that people are using for the strict no work thing is usually like a corporate job, even a high level one, that has policies in place about disclosing relationships, or whatever. Like the movie Fair Play.

Kinda how i feel about it. I don't have much to lose. This ain't a career, this isn't some high stakes corporate job, this is a grocery store + restaurant and we got a 52 year old chef that knocked up a 30 year old coworker then proceeded to fukk another chick in the same department while the other one is still pregnant. We got two managers from different departments fukking each other. Our old store manager quit after getting all her money taken by a lower level manager she was fukking because he told her he was gonna buy a house for them and start a life together so she put up her life savings to help out and he ran with it

Met one of my cousin’s friends (baddie) at a kick back a couple months back and we’ve always vibed since we met but I've never pressed the issue. Fast forward to this past Saturday and a few of the cousins go out. My cousin invites her friend and she pulls up late after she gets off work. We immediately start vibing. Good convo, laughing, asking the right questions and we end up getting cozy at the strip club later that night.

I end up getting her number when we were all leaving and she texts me that she made it home and it was really good seeing me again. I tell her the same and we need to run it back soon. I end up texting her again today asking how her week has been going so far and she let me know today has been super busy for her with work. She also asks how I've been doing and if I made it back to Austin since I was back home in Houston. I let her know I ended up staying in Houston for few more days and I let her know the reason. I was expecting her to respond back so I can parlay that into asking her out dolo but she doesn't respond back (or hasn’t as of yet).

What yall boys think? Should I cut my losses or just see how it plays out. I’m not really with games but maybe I’m overreacting lol.

Forgot to give an update on this situation...

Shorty ended up hitting me back, we went on a date and had a great time. She even came on my bday trip to Vegas this past weekend with some cousins and everybody had an amazing time. She invited me to the rodeo this week for my bday too so I’ll be spending the upcoming weekend with her once I’m back in Houston. She’s been very transparent about what she wants and how she feels. Everything has been great with her so far.

Lol to each his own...I would prefer to be with someone around my age that has her shyt together. Younger woman come with their own set of problems and are prone to change a lot. Give me someone that's more established, make their own money, desires stability and a one and done kid wise. I dont really want to do anything mid 20s Atlanta have to offer.

When you playing the generalities this is true but when you get into it for the individual as long as they go in eyes wide open it doesnt always work that way and added nuance/preference can vary wildly. Dont take the "straight jacket of society" off just to put another one on that dictate your choices.
