Recently, my app and irl interactions start off light but slowly morph into more serious conversations about wanting a committed relationship/long-term partner. I tell them I am not interested in that atm and the conversation ends.
There’s nothing wrong with being upfront, but It’s never subtle. It’s always a melodramatic explanation of how bad dating is, how they are tired of getting played, finally in another stage of life, etc.

It's a product of Tik Tok algorthims, and a newer cultural demand for "serious relationships, I think you can even see it in the movies and music, and just generally where society is at. If there isn't a bunch of academic studies and podcast NY Times about it, there will be.
