I've been lifting weights for maybe 12 years and and last year I transitioned to crossfit....it kicked my ass. It was really an eye opener because despite looking like i was in good shape I realized how terrible my fitness really was. There was guys in there that looked like they barely worked out a day in their life and they were smoking me. Very depressing being one of the worst performers in the RX group initially.

Now my cardio is much much better. I've lost a little size but my strength is roughly the same and I feel so much better. Not saying everyone should switch to crossfit...definitely not. But just pressing weights and ignoring cardio is an awful decision that I learned the hard way.

What type of cardio is it?

Mostly HIIT

For example, it will be high rep compound movements like cleans, snatches, deadlifts, ect then followed by a 400-800m run. Then repeat

Usually its trying to finish a specific workout within a certain amount of time, which means you need to be somewhat quick on the runs, can't run half and then walk half like I was initially doing.

 had the fa sho muscles vs functional debate/convo at work last night. We got one guy 6'4 maybe 230 built like an ig model kept talking trash because I don't have a 6 pack saying it's the same (I'm 6'6 270) finally old head came thru and told him"look that's good you got the physique, ladies like that shyt but if you hit someone yea they'll feel it but he(me)got you by 30 lbs plus, if he hits someone it's going to hurt. He hits you, your frame not built to take punishment he's gone fold you like cheap money"
I keep telling these dudes weight classes matter

I feel you about weight classes but at the same time...that shyt isn't everything

Tyson Fury has about 40 pounds on Wilder. Wilder probably hits twice as hard as Fury though.

You can have 30-40 pounds on someone but if most of that is fat, that won't make a huge difference in strength.

True but I'm not fat (I get what you're saying though)
Plus wilder has pure natural punching power

Definitely didn't mean to imply you are fat...I'm saying that in comparison to dudes who are IG model level and walking around at sub 10% body fat all the time. You can have 30 pounds on him and most of it be fat and still be in really good shape simply because they dude is ridiculously lean.

No harm done
I think dude was just feeling himself but I don't see myself losing that 30ish libs to be that way. I'm good at 270/260 hell I got him by 5/10 yrs

Y'all pray for me. Gonna try to push the conditioning more while also doing the Bulgarian Method for squats look (again).
:patrice::hubie:

Plan is to squat (Front/Back/Back/Front/Back/Back/Off) for 10 weeks on top of the Upper/Lower 3x/ week I've been doing. Will continue to deload every 6th week. I'll also be dialing back accessory lifts so it's 7-8 exercises max per day.

Just knocked out today in around the same time as my usual Monday WO. :whew:

Yeah, I was doing something similar, with my gym having hiit classes (WOD like workouts), and shyt does wonders for your work capacity and endurance, cool way to do cardio without knowing it. I'm going to try to get back into after this month (got a 5k coming up), it sucks balls but physically had me feeling like could ball again.

I will say for me the downside is if you're trying to build a ton a muscle it doesn't really help as well.
