You boy was cooked today. I walked a little but my lower body is a little crispy. Might just keep it at push-ups and band work tomorrow with a light stroll

Which is better, burning more calories but less fat or less calories but all fat?
Doesn’t really work that way. You want to burn as much fat as possible but to some degree you can’t choose and you likely don’t have the resources to determine if you are and to course correct as needed.

Generally speaking 1-2 pounds average per week over the course of time is likely to be a solid range of fat loss while minimizing muscle loss. There are a lot of variables there based on the individuals current body composition.

So you’re saying my Fitbit is wrong?:skip:
Anyways idk how these things really work but basically it tracks my calories burned and uses my weight and heart rate to calculate it. The reason why I asked was bc I’ve been staying in my target heart rate for 100% fat burn. Yesterday, I decided to up my workout and ended up with 79% fat burn and the rest was cardio but I burned more calories.
My question is should I continue to intensify my workouts and burn more calories or stay within my target heart rate and burn just fat for long term? The calories burned are about a 400 difference for the same amount of time exercised...

I wouldn’t say wrong but that’s just a part of the equation and data. Ultimately the scale, mirror, tape measure, etc. are the truest indicators.

As far as your question I would look at it a few different ways:

Cardio for general health: More times than not it’s a good thing you should have in your routine

Cardio for fat loss: You have to judge it based on how much fat you have to lose versus how much muscle you need to retain. For example a person that is fairly lean with solid muscle mass would likely utilize less intense cardio for longer periods so think that fat burning zone you mentioned. If they have more fat to lose more intense cardio could be called for. The flip side there is that nutrition needs to support retaining what muscle mass they do have so it’s not sacrificed in the attempt to burn fat.
