I hate when MFers turn lifting into a team sport
Some guy was benching 160 kg today (a little over 350 lbs) with a spotter, and failed, spotter couldn't get it up either. Completely their fault because you should know when to stop, especially at those weights, and the spotter was a guy who didn't really know how to spot. Was stillthough, me and another guy ran over and got the bar up on the pins.
Breh if theres one thing Ive learned in this game...... its to keep those jumps as small as possible. I dont put more than 5lbs on bench at a time, 20lb is![]()
I was gonna try and make that same jump
You saved me brehFucc that

See the thing is I've seen people attempt shyt purely for ego knowing they shouldn't be attempting it but I would still help them when the time arose. We were the only two people in the gym and he was pretending to not hear or see me

I did it at the end of my sets for benching. So yeah.Eh, it's not a crazy jump. But obviously it depends on how and when you do it. If you've done all your regular sets first and then add that afterwards, it'll definitely be difficult because you're fatigued already.
I agree on small jumps being better in general though (if you're not doing big big weights; the percentage you jump might be more relevant than the absolute weight jump).

Luckily I knew to leave the clips off so I had it. Having a good spotter is key...they're only there to keep you from dying...and to give you a peace of mind that enables you to focus.

I mean if u are throwing up 3 plates with sides u should know what ur limits are. That is the shyt that gets MFers killedExactly.
If I ask for a spot I always explicitly tell them to stay the fukk away from the bar completely until I tell them to touch it (lightly) or the extremely unlikely case that I'm stuck and can't talk.
