Today's lesson: don't try to reinvent the wheel.
Leg day. I'm in the squat rack. Decided to try something new and do hack squats. Bad idea. I have 135 on there. I go down to pick up the bar and stretch too far and feel some pain on the sides of my chest. Maybe due to doing chest and shoulders yesterday so I'm like hold up, let me take it nice and easy. I try a few and I just don't feel comfortable with it. Bar bumping against my butt, form must've been all wrong. Just didn't feel right. So I put 185 on there and do regular squats. Then I go back to 135 and do 3x20 of calf raises. Then I decide to do some front squats. I'm like I'll just keep the 45s on there. I see buddy on the squat rack next to me doing them with 25s and wearing a weight belt. So I'm like hold up, this guy looks more advanced than me. Let me just try 25s. Did like two sets and said fukk it. Went and messed with a few of the leg machines. Did some captains chair leg raises with a 12.5 dumbbell i saw laying nearby and did some post workout leg stretches before doing a short stint on the elliptical. Chilling in the sauna now to cool off and cleanse. Best not to try any new exercises or use too much weight before I kill myself out here.
