I thought fasting help lose body fat ?

im tryna get my percentage down it’s at 25% right now. 222lbs was 227lbs two weeks ago.

I’d prefer to stay at current weight & just lose body fat %

So I guess you say no?:russ:

I'd never willingly fast, I can literally feel my body eating itself after like 4-5 hours with no food :scust:. Them feels when the front and back of your stomach are sticking together :huhldup:.


Did have a coworker who did IF and loved that shyt, but he was small, weak, and unaesthetic; he just wanted to be smaller and it worked. :merchant:


I say do it you think you can and don't mind potentially losing muscle and becoming weaker.

IF works from some people and for others it doesn't work nearly as good.

I do think its basically, eating in a smaller window vs eating all day is just a smarter way to eat less calories, but if it works it works.

It def worked for me when I tried it. Did a lot of fasted workouts too at that time. Would throw 24+ hr fasts in their too.

**I forgot....I was doing IF and Low Carb at the same time. So, who knows which one did most of the work.

It can by virtue of not consuming calories. At the same time you want to maintain muscle mass yet also plan to not feed those same muscles. Doesn’t seem optimal. Also you can’t really lose body fat and maintain the same scale weight. Not easily anyway.

People make a leap about what fasting does and doesn’t do. At its core it’s about restricting calories. Other benefits can come along with it but honestly those are secondary and a lot of times people claiming to get them aren’t even truly fasting.

Bottom line you have to look at what works best for what you are trying to do and how you currently train. It’s not worth adjusting everything else just to claim you do IF. You literally have people in TLR talking about it’s a struggle not to eat or it takes X amount of time to adjust. If so what’s the point?!

Great points . Based on y’all I think I’ll pass on fasting I’ve lost 5lbs the last two weeks without it :manny:

I’m just being impatient as I want to lose body fat/stomach fast so I can start back building muscle .
Let me stop tryna cut corners tho

Yes, but the process would take much longer. You'd essentially be doing a body recomposition: trying to build/maintain current levels of muscle mass while whittling down body fat.

If you wanted to drop to 12% b.f. while staying the same weight you are now, it'd require you to build 28 pounds of additional lean mass (muscle, connective tissue, water, etc.) while losing 28 pounds of fat at the same time. This would not necessarily be impossible but would take a lot of time and effort, especially if you're trying to do it natty.

And why would burgers be sold out in Gloryda? We gotta plenty of beef and TP still in stock :blessed:.

It was baby girl birthday, eating right went smooth out the window. Cheese Turkey omelet followed by pancakes
