Aye anybody do split squats?
Do they have any benefit a regular squat wouldn't give you?


Help build better balance and leg stability IMO; you'll find out really quick if you have any significant strength imbalances that are hidden if you just do bilateral leg exercises. You can play with the angles easier if you want to focus on quad vs glute/hams. IMO splits squats work better as an assistance exercise or part of a superset.

I think I’m going to do leg day at the gym after work. I used to go to the gym 4 days a week, but this past month, I’ve been going once or not at all, plus I noticed I’ve gained a few after thanksgiving :snoop:


I want to lose like 50 pounds and they say leg day burns the most calories in the gym but idk how true that is. I’m doing an 8 mile trail with my girl Saturday I know that shyt will suck if I go hard in the gym tonight

But no, seriously, leg day doesn't necessarily burn any more calories than any other 'day'.

Theoretically using bigger muscle groups would in fact burn more calories than, say an arm day, but how many cats do you see actually go hard on leg day, assuming they don't skip it entirely?

I think the truth is it depends on intensity, density/duration, and exercise selection more than anything.

My .02 but be to go hard every day and focus on heavy lifting and interval cardio sessions.

I never been sloppy fat..my stomach and chest needs to go though. My legs are muscular as fukk tho cause I used to run stadium steps all the time when I was younger, and in college I didn’t know shyt about lifting so I did legs almost every other day cause it was always easy for me.

I got out of the Marines in 2015, so I’ve always been somewhat active & in decent shape. Working out isn’t my issue I just have a piss poor diet. I gotta get that straight as well
