I usually go in the Gym early in the am so the crowd is never really bad. That after work crowd though is another story. If things get too bad I can do the entire Starting strength routine at the crib plus I have kettle bells, adjustable DBs that go to 90lb, curl bar , and an air bike (I prefer steady state on the elliptical though). I always feel its best to start your transformation before/after new yrs so when new yrs hit you won't be too screwed having to adjust workouts due to the crowd. You can treat Jan as a deload period.
