I go to FitnessSF in Oakland by Lake Merritt. It’s pretty good for the price ($50 a month) but I do wish it were bigger and 24 hrs like the 24hr fitness I used to go to in San Mateo.



Bruh, it’s the B(g)ay Area for a reason. Even my spot got a fruity contingent as well. Probably not as many as SF proper.

Only seen like four women at my gym worth pulling up on but I just get in my workout and bounce :manny:
That one especialy tho bc it's close to Castro/Mission. They would come in there with leotards on like Richard Simmons. :scust:

It’s wild that I’ve been in the Bay for a little over three years and I really don’t be in SF like that outside of work. I keep saying I need to explore more but I’m like where…

Random musings:
  • Going into the 7th week of the year and I must say, my consistency in gym has been great. Some folks in the AM gym crew noticed as much. It’s becoming much much easier. I do have to ramp up the intensity and really ensure I get in before 5:15 am so I don’t cut my workouts short.
  • I’ll have to do two protein shakes a day. I’m looking to drop weight while preserving my muscle and it’s tough to get 170+ grams a day from just natural food.
  • I know this one but I always have to remind myself that there will be day to day weight fluctuations. It’s not going to be a linear downward slope but more like a downward sloping EKG scan. Today’s highs should be yesterday’s lows. It just can be a bit demoralizing when you think you’ve crossed a threshold i.e. getting under 200 and into onederland only for the next day to bloat up to 203 :beli:
  • I work in corporate, so I have to eat like corporate. Salads every lunch. You’re looking to whet your appetite, not eat until you’re full.
  • I can still cut down my meals some more. E.g half an avocado instead of a whole one, one less tablespoon of salad dressing etc
  • I’m on the cusp of having to get new jeans and a belt just need to keep at. In the same vein, I also gotta keep an eye out on my weekends. Even if I’m having a “cheat” meal, better to make it at home eg steak, burger etc.
  • Time is going to pass regardless, just need to ensure I’m doing the right things daily and the results will follow. Patience is a very big part of the game. I’m still early in the “paper towel” so to speak. This is why I keep saying hone in on Q1, first.
  • Weigh in daily but observe the weekly average and log that into my spreadsheet. Take bi-weekly progress pictures and tape measurements, too.
  • Even after my Q1 alcohol fast, I’m very likely to drastically reduce my consumption moving forward. I have a 14-yr Bowmore that my dad got me last Thanksgiving that’ll likely not get opened until Christmas at the rate I’m going. Some nine bottles of wine, prosecco and Trini rum that are still unopened. At this point, unless I’m trying to seal the deal with a chick, I’m good lol :hubie:

Anyway, another week is coming. We move. Keep things simple and sustainable. Hold yourself accountable but extend grace when needed. We are in this for life.

Been stepping my core game up lately. Unafraid of the more intense ab workouts, like incline crunches and "scrunches".....where you really feel that burn.

Results are amazing.

A very very solid upper day. 7:34am PST I’m done and we move.

And a little cherry on the top of my workout..

Got the iG of this cute chick I’d been seeing in the morning crew. Caught her when she was leaving and I was unlocking my bike to head home. Lemme try to parlay something for the long weekend.

I’m in the zone

7:13am PST. Wrapped up a very good leg day.

I got in by 5:15am and there were still a gang of folks there :snoop:

At this rate, I’ll have to help the staff open the gym at 5am if I want a somewhat empty gym.

I wish this was the case for me. I looked at my check-ins for the last 8 weeks and I’m generally in between 5:20am - 5:45am and there’ll still be a lot of people :beli:

Need to start getting in at 5am, 5:15am at the latest.

And they're usually on the treadmill for 45 minutes going 2.0 mph, max :beli:

The road to bulk: 195 from 185/186

Probably need to increase the cals later on. But currently 3500, 200g protein a day. Using zing as a fitness coach, not a bad program.
200g is crazy. How many shakes do you do a day?

I struggle to get 150g but then again I’m cutting so different goals.
