I get to the gym normal time. Hop on a treadmill to do my 30-35 minutes of steps/walking before lifting. Most of the treads are on the second floor so they overlook the main gym space. I’m scanning for talent while the tread to my right is open. All of the sudden I feel someone leaning over to my treadmill to get my attention.

It’s my wife
:damn:

Keep in mind we don’t go to gym together and she’s never there that early.

What is up with the nerves in my lower back :gucci:

Feeling a sensation in my lower right leg which wasn’t there before
At the gym right now and it seems to be subsiding a bit. Today is leg day, too.

I think it’s sciatica tbh. I had lower back injury way back in college playing soccer so these flare ups are always on the cards.

Anyway, tried some light squats today (like 75-80% my usual weight) and no issues I can feel. I’ll still reserve full squatting for a few weeks out. Keep with the walking lunges for now…

The lower leg pain may have just been a small tweak/false alarm.

The walking lunges are working. 285lbs on squats 4x8. Not my usual 350lbs but good to know I’m on the mend.

You never want to run from certain exercises for too long. Squats were very integral to my program and while I likely won’t go back to heavy squatting, I’ll likely get back to 3 plates and just add more reps instead of more weight.

Building back better and stronger :banderas:
