Some of y'all are goofy as shyt. Why are y'all comparing the Rock's WWE personality to the iconography of Arnold and Stallone's films...that's apples and oranges.

"The Rock" is a character in a production. It's one role on a completely different medium. Stallone and Arnold and Bruce have at least a dozen on a different medium.

The Rock doesn't have it yet, plain a simple. And it's apparently by his own decision. He's choosing money over legend. Which I guess is cool, but he can't be mentioned in the same breath.

How has no one mentioned Faster? It was his last role before Fast 5. It’s a little thin, but def the type of movie we’re all saying we wish he made,

I mentioned it on the first page. I said he needs to do more of that. Fast 5 hit, and he's been in his second rate Will Smith bag ever since.

As I say this all as a big ass fan of Dwayne, who has every tangible to be as big as the greats.

Were not questioning whether the Rock is as famous as them are we?Hes probably more popular based on his era. The same era that makes it hard for him to feel like a bigger star, due to the fact we have more access. But hes definitley as famous,i would say more.

Also in his defense I would argue he is too believable, since somebody said he wasnt as believable. These Fast And Furious movies havent helped either.Who is supposed to be The Rocks nemesis when you see him bringing down helicopters? Whos supposed to buy you being the underdog after all these "Im just a regular guy who does incredible feats for my loved ones:youngsabo:" types of films. Nobody buys you as the underdog like we did Bruce Willis. And Hollywood writing and fight choreography isnt what it used to be,to help paint him as a underdog to every really be so caught up in the movie where you question if he could lose.Sad WWE did a better job of that then these movie studios of today:mjlol:.Then again they dont make Hollywood bad guys like they used to anymore either. These action moviies of today lack non generic villians. Thats not neccessarily the rocks fault.

Yea, no doubt.

If Rock came up in the action movie star era of the 80s and 90s his films would have probably hit just as hard as Terminator and Rocky/Rambo.

The studios most of the time suck for anything not Marvel related.

I don't think the Rock has an iconic movie franchise under his belt but the fact is the man was homeless at one point of his life with barely any money to his name and became one of the biggest stars in the world. Rocky went from being depressed and homeless to becoming arguably the most popular wrestler of all time and has gone on to have a very successful acting career.

He gets nothing but respect from me

He doesn't...and I fukk with Rock heavy, but he has no signature franchise. I'd be embarrassed as fukk as an actor if I was highest paid and I'm known for Jumanji.

Hobbs and Shaw although a jackmove, is a step in the right direction. He needs to get back to his roots like Walking Tall, Faster, or The Rundown.

The last great action stars are either Michael Jai White or Jason Statham.

Hell if Tom Cruise and Keanu Reeves can be the best action stars in the world, The Rock should be able to do it too.

I'm not sure if its because he wants to be the safe guy or what...he should pick up some tips from his homie Mark Wahlberg. He manages to make solid action flicks.
listen the Rock entertains us. but no those films are not classics. Why does he keep choosing these types over the classic? because he still came from wrestling which if you admit it, is kind of corny. even though we all loved it at some point in time. wrestling is corny. most of what the rock has been in, has been corny. if the rock started as an actor like a Sly stallone or an Arnold(I know he was a body builder but nothing about that is scripted or corny. so he started out as a movie guy when it came to his first script.). if that were the case the rock would have different action movies and some of them would be classics by now.
