nikkas need to stop lying.

I am a huge The Rock fan. He dominated the late 90s early 00s era of wrestling. His character was charismatic and game changing.

But his movies are trash. You’re all lying if you say The Rock has movies you would watch more than twice.

Rambo, Rocky. Demolition Man.

Terminator, Conan, Predator.

Those movies are CLASSICS. They literally redefined their genres. Since then, everyone has tried to copy it.

The Rock doesn’t have one classic. He needs a better agent because someone with his charisma and talent is being wasted on trash movies.

I refuse to believe there isn’t ONE script out there that can define The Rock’s career and create a franchise.

He’s the biggest start in the world right now with the worst agent ever.

Will Smith and as supposed to be in jumanji, central intelligence, or fast?

Maybe not Central Intelligence:scust:

But he would have been great in Jumanji and Fast And Furious,if you can't get Will who still has an ounce of integrity, have the bag for The Rock. Hollywood director says "We would love to have Will Smith in this:lupe:" but realize quickly "Will would never do this, lets call the Rock:mjlol:"

You just failing to give 90s WWE attitude to recognition it deserves

:yeshrug:

Grew up and still live in Roseland chicago and I guarantee you these same nikkas who was on street life shyt came into school everyday discussing who got they ass beat last night by the Rock. You can still catch a nikka riding a 96 impala with a Brahma Bull on his bumper. I haven't even watched wrestling in 15 years but news of when Rock bout to show up always gets around the way. Yea its nostalgia but that nostalgia way more powerful than just nerds and manchilds breh.
Like I said...WWE fanatics, diehards & grown ass kids (adults living through childhood nostalgia) are his fanbase.
The numbers during the attitude era don't lie everyone was watching that shyt then lol.
Again outside of WWE fanatics, diehards & grown manchilds only care about this "attitude era"...

Outside of that nobody else cares about the Rock that HEAVY especially as an actor.

Yeah everybody who were just WWE diehards watched, nobody else cared.

The Rock character itself is arguably as popular, if not more popular than Terminator and Rambo tho

I don't know about that, popular culture still references "I'll be back".

I lived through all these eras and I don't think people truly understand just how huge Stallone and Arnold were at their peaks. And I love The Rock.

Also, Terminator, Rambo, and Rocky weren't their only hot flicks, just their most famous.

Stallone been making movies since 1972 and blew in 1976, and he has a new one coming out this fall.

Rock really blew up in what year? 2000? That means Rock would have to still be putting out shyt in 2043...to be comparable.

Funny thing is, he fired his old team and hired a new team around 2012-2013. After Journey to Mysterious Island 2 he tried to change his style up. But now his strategy is pump out action movie after movie with no regard for quality.

Nobody asked for Rampage, San Andreas, Skyscraper, etc. Those movies are so mediocre.

You right. He needs to fire his team again and start fresh before its too late. People gonna get tired of his movies unless he changes his formula

Honestly, I just think he came up in the wrong era. This is the most trash Hollywood and movies have ever been. He’s got all the tools to have a memorable/legendary action series but I’ve yet to see anything come out of Hollywood that isn’t a garbage remake with ridiculous amounts of CGI.

Another poster mentioned that he might just be picking the shyt that pays him the most money as opposed to picking a role that might really be big for his career. Could be the case, but I’m more inclined to believe that Hollywood is just trash today and doesn’t make any original or groundbreaking movies.

The movie with Rock and Kevin Hart was good. :hamster:

He doesn't have a role-defining film though. :francis:

Does he really need one though? :yeshrug:

Were not questioning whether the Rock is as famous as them are we?Hes probably more popular based on his era. The same era that makes it hard for him to feel like a bigger star, due to the fact we have more access. But hes definitley as famous,i would say more.

Also in his defense I would argue he is too believable, since somebody said he wasnt as believable. These Fast And Furious movies havent helped either.Who is supposed to be The Rocks nemesis when you see him bringing down helicopters? Whos supposed to buy you being the underdog after all these "Im just a regular guy who does incredible feats for my loved ones:youngsabo:" types of films. Nobody buys you as the underdog like we did Bruce Willis. And Hollywood writing and fight choreography isnt what it used to be,to help paint him as a underdog to every really be so caught up in the movie where you question if he could lose.Sad WWE did a better job of that then these movie studios of today:mjlol:.Then again they dont make Hollywood bad guys like they used to anymore either. These action moviies of today lack non generic villians. Thats not neccessarily the rocks fault.

In 2019 you don't need defining Franchises to be a top actor (in terms of fortune/fame). I agree I don't think the Rock has a classic movie per se but he has cult classics, I think the Rundown, Pain and Gain, and even Secret Intelligence are in that realm but it's clear he's picking the movies that hand him the largest paychecks but it doesn't matter the The Rock is his own brand at this point. He's filling Will Smith's void right now.
