they doing it now so it makes no sense, eating that contract like capt crunch. They should do a buyout
Or trade him now and pay him the remaining part of his contract for the current year. Next year would be expiring for whatever team that trades for him. It’s ridiculous to keep paying him and not playing him.

He'd have to give up like $10-$15 million in a buyout, so I can see why Wall would be hesitant to do it. They'd have a better chance of doing it in the offseason where a team might be willing to cobble up the assets to take on his expiring.

Cleveland is likely going to shut Love down at some point, but I do give them a lot of credit though for at least trying to play him instead of letting him rot on the bench. That's why I think the excuse that people use against Wall is bullshyt as the same argument was once used against Love and now we see that's not the case and he's out there contributing to helping them win and being a positive influence.

If they end up out of contention by seasons end then they totally would and develop the young guys instead. As great as they've been playing, they are only 4 games out of the 10th seed and if Garland goes out for an extended period of time, then their season is fukked as the only guard they have on the roster other than him is Rubio.

It's why I've been saying for a while now that guard depth is their achilles heel as Garland has been injury prone thus far in his career and they don't have a suitable backup or depth behind him.

There's no spitballing at all when the only two decent guards that they have on their roster right now is Garland and Rubio. Ask Cavaliers fan @NatiboyB and he'll tell you himself. If Garland goes down, then they're screwed as they don't have the depth to overcome it with Sexton being out.

Nah, its still spitballing. Even if that were to occur it does not mean Cleveland is “likely to shut down Kevin Love”.

That’s something you came up with all on your own.

We've seen it happen before where teams out of the playoffs shut down veterans and instead focus on playing the young guys. OKC did it with Horford last season and they were still technically in playoff contention at the time before they pulled the tank job that they did. The problem with Houston and Wall is that they shut him down from the beginning instead of giving him run and then shutting him down later in the season like other teams have done in the past.

As it's constituted right now, everyone in the West is still in playoff contention and if Houston was serious about making the playoffs then Wall would be out there contributing to helping them win just as Love is doing for Cleveland. Don't use the excuse about his previous reputation as we don't know how he'd play until he's out there on the floor this season.

If that’s the case wouldn’t it make sense for them to trade for wall?:sas1: Wall for Love.
