I havent seen anything from part 3 and beyond, but the previous films would just have little Easter eggs that weren’t really essential. Not sure if any of the recent ones connect the series like say the MCU.

She's got a resume building. The Gift, The Nighthouse, Resurrection is a really nice run. Resurrection's weird as hell, but I swear her monologue in that movie belongs right up there with Mia Goth in Pearl.

Frewaka looks promising, Thesis is a slept on classic to me, and I've good things about the Ugly Stepsister. I'm def putting that on the weekend watch list.
Love her. Not horror but she was great on The Studio. It was refreshing seeing her in a fun role there because usually she’s either crashing out or crying from grief in everything else I catch her in, lol.
I’m up to 3 on the Final Destination marathon. The second joint feels like the most brutal when it comes to the kills, while simultaneously being the most direct-to-video of the bunch. I know it got play in the theaters, but something just feels off about it. Wong brought that polish back with FD3. That shot of the flaming tanning beds transitioning into coffins was hilarious.

Final Destination 4 has its moments but man, I forgot how much of a chore it felt like. It’s the first entry to not feature the late Shirley Walker’s score and I definitely felt her absence. The biggest missing piece tho…no Tony Todd. 
shyt, maybe it’s a good thing he didn’t show up all things considered. There were literally characters credited as ‘racist’ and ‘racist’s wife’, lmao. The CGI is diabolically bad and the story weirdly takes itself seriously even though it has the look of a parody.
I see a lot of love for 5. I’m not there with it though I gotta say the kills do stand out despite the dodgy CGI. What it does with its ending doesn’t fully work for me but I like the overall film as a return to form after 4. The bar was that low.
All that being said, it’s Final Destination. As long as they give me crazy kills, I’m mostly satisfied. I do hope the series can bounce back with its characters having more of a personality again. The folks from the last two are cut straight out of a cardboard box and I’d be lying if I said I cared about any of them. Have heard really good things about Bloodlines tho.

Most of the supernatural horror movies I've enjoyed recently are foreign horror. When Evil Lurks was really good; Grave Torture is super dark with a lot of strong moments toward the end; Exhuma isn't scary but it's cool how authentic they went (they had a real shaman on the set to help with the ritual scenes).
