The album was supposed to be an African centric album featuring African artists.

What time period is the movie? From looks of the trailer modern African music, hiphop and anything at all is out of place. What else? have African production and African actors? It's a damn science fiction blockbuster movie not a documentary. They landed the probably best and biggest black artist out and some of the best and hottest black actors, one of the best and hottest black directors out aiming to make a classic movie all around, pretty obvious. Not about nationality but keeping it black, African original, African American or African European, doesn't matter.

Social media gives too many people too much space to create news out of anything and nothing.

Men in Black a soundtrack only had one track about aliens... but this soundtrack gotta be African...
Rush Hour soundtrack had nothing to do with Asia
right? an american movie, american studio, american director, many american stars...yet the soundtrack should be african/african artists? it's business, american entertainment sells :yeshrug: would be one thing if there were a nice selection of african artists poppin in the US (and Asia - the other key market for this movie), but....

Big Shot is a banger. Def would've been great on DAMN. Wouldn't think Kendrick could make that track.

First of all watch your fukking mouth

THAT WAS A Afro/World beat track that French Montana sung over.
Execs for Black Panther would've went with songs that sound like this.

Now it would've been interesting imo if you had Rihanna, Drake, and other American Hip Hop based stars COLLAB with African Artist to make underniable bangers.

While they could have used African music, this is an American comic back made by Americans with a movie full of Americans. This is not an African movie even though we are appropriating the culture this is a black American movie. Also people expecting the soundtrack to a Disney superhero movie to be a public enemy album are dumb. By the way Kendrick already made that style of album y’all called it trash remember TPAB.

Gonna watch the film Sunday, I never really followed the comic books to be honest but I expect it to be dope judging by the trailer and would love to see how they incorporated the soundtrack.
