And while I would never go vegan or even vegetarian, I was thoroughly convinced that I definitely should scale back my meat intake...

thoughts?

I havent seen the film yet, but i actually read the book "The China Study" and it has INSIGHTFUL info in this regard. Ever since, I've been doing just as you mentioned here - cutting back on meat-foods intake and increasing plant based foods.

Personally I don't think I could make the vegan/vegetarian thing work...I don't eat dairy or eggs at all (they don't agree with my stomach) so I'd have a hard time getting enough protein.

That said I do avoid beef and pork completely, but I don't see too much reason to give up poultry or fish. :yeshrug:

I've never had weight issues anyway, if anything I have a hard time building muscle. If there's anything I need to cut back on it's alcohol, but the world just makes a nygga want to :drunk: sometimes.

I saw that documentary. It was cool, although a bit biased.

Peep this:

Can't meet macros requirements without beef and chicken or it would be a pain in the ass.

This. Ever since I been paying attention to my macros i been eatin hella beef and chicken. Its hard as is to hit my macros, if i got rid of meat!?!? :wow2:

Vegans or would be vegans who are still stuck on that whole "where I'm going to get protein" from need to check out Moringa, Hemp Seed, Spirulina etc.

GREAT source of protein and is full of other nutrients.

It's really a fallacy to think there is incomplete source of nutrition with vegan food.

Go on... I'm listening. If I gotta drive outta my way to get this shyt or its hella expensive then its already not a viable alternative.

You can either order a premade protein formula online that has the aforementioned herbs made together or buy some individual herbs at your local store but I prefer the former.
Bi-ception - 100 Capsules - Athletic Health - Herbs

Bio-Protein Formula - 100 Capsules

That site also has a plethora of other items suitable for health concerns.

Good stuff.

what do studies say about being vegan and being physically fit?

i know nothing about being vegetarian but i could only assume that only eating plants would keep you frail and unable to be superior physically

That's a myth. The Boxer Timothy bradly who fought Manny is a vegan

. My exgirlfreind was a pescadian and she was fit. I was eating raw food for a minute. I had a dehydrator to make cook/raw food. Or I would go eat raw food at a raw food restaurant which was pretty pricey..

:snoop: Just realized I haven't seen that movie yet either, it's in queue....

This was the movie about juicing that I saw:
100 pounds overweight, loaded up on steroids and suffering from a debilitating autoimmune disease, Joe Cross is at the end of his rope and the end of his hope. In the mirror he saw a 310lb man whose gut was bigger than a beach ball and a path laid out before him that wouldn't end well- with one foot already in the grave, the other wasn't far behind

watching "hungry for change" now....

looks interesting...

I'm split on it right now. It's basically a highlight reel of Forks over Knives, Gary Taubes lectures, Fat Sick and Nearly Dead, and some other shyt. it also has this little sub element going with this chick who switches to a natural foods diet and all her problems disappear :russ:. I agree with a lot of what these docs say, but i can't help but recoil at their willingness to :tinfoil: conspiracy theory, and some of what theyre saying about carbs and stuff i just dont feel is properly backed by data. A lot of it is former fatties talking about science not SCIENTISTS. which is dangerous, because a lot of these people will take the diets and ideas that saved them and evangelize them. Even if they are right, you have to back it with proper justification and rationale :wow:

It's shame too because there's a lot of informative information. Point blank, the message should be, eat more vegetables and less processed foods. Not that corporations are some vindictive predators "intentionally" trying make consumers sick and depressed.
