It is such an issue in the first place because it is...Elementary, middle school & high school were diverse but they were still majority white(I would say they were all 60% white, 40% "other,")College was the same way,& for grad school I may be considering an HBCU, I'm not sure yet.Why do I think colorism is such a problem?Because I have had these discussions with other black women.I have witnessed their truths.I've been to black psych student meetings (with primarily black women),I've been in a black feminist theory class with primarily black women,I have black female friends,I've had this discussion with black family members.I've heard real stories from REAL black women, & I have seen the same or similar stories online. It's a real issue that I realize many black women go through.

Yes, there are also many black women who don't care about colorism as well. However, if I know this is still a struggle that some black women face,I WILL take up for them, period.I will always be passionate about the advancement of black women.

I can tell that you're one of those white speaking raised in the suburbs black girls who picked up a Maya Angelo book in college and decided she was going to be a black feminist.

Ok so if this whip cream broad only care about black women and has given up on black men what is her stand for black children? The young children are the future and if we divide ourselves between men and women there is no future for the children and our future descendant s. If you believe in division then it will be easir for white supremacy to destroy the black community even further. I still believe in our people and wont give up on them. The children are the future.

I see how a number of black men are.I see them cracking jokes about dark skin women or black women in general on social media.I see & everyone else sees the lack of respect.I was actually on Yik Yak recently (it's a phone app that shows you random "yaks," or "tweets" from your college campus) & this one yak read "I love the men of my race even though they don't love me."I yaked back to the girl asking her if she was black & she said yes.

:sas1: Even though I already knew she was.

My issue is primarily with how black women are regarded in general, colorism is an issue that falls under the issues that black women face.I've also ran into plenty colorist black men.A very interesting case was when this black dude told me light skin girls are dirty. :mjlol:& Yes, I did check him.A light skin woman may be light but she is still black & you are not going to disrespect black women in front of me.I really wonder why do some colorist black men do this? They are so quick to start talking sh*t about the color that the girl they are trying to impress is not.

OK you've said all this and Im not getting where your super hard stance against black men is coming from.

I already admitted colorism is a bigger problem for black women. But that doesn't mean black men don't suffer from it too. I'm noticing all she has is stories from black women. Her information flow is very one sided :jbhmm:

But I'm getting away from my point. She doesn't look at black men any more favorably then other races of men. All on account of how she perceives us to treat black women. :skip:

Every school I've went to (except college) was 90%-plus black. You need to grow some thick skin, get a life, stop feeling sorry for yourself, and stop complaining, that shyt is pitiful and everybody from my environment would feel the same way

My skin is thick.I am comfortable with my skin tone.I have the right to defend myself and those women who look like me.

But what are you gaining by tryna play the divisive angle. Like women aren't colorstruck too and for all those women you've talked to there's a dark skin male equivalent. I'm not saying it's not a problem and I'm not even trying to play it like it's not a bigger problem for women in general.

But you frame this like it's an epidemic and a male only one at that. :mjpls:

It's really annoying

There is already division in the black community.Me supporting a group of women who don't get support will not be a catastrophe.& I understand anyone can be colorstruck, women included, but as you said, colorism against black women is prominent.

OK you've said all this and Im not getting where your super hard stance against black men is coming from.

I am not against black men, & don't confuse my support of black women for being against black men.

So you admit colorism goes both ways yet you let it seriously affect how you view the men of your race but not your fellow woman:jbhmm:

And you are against black men. It's extremely embarrassing for someone to be :manny: about their other half. I guarantee the Internet is the only place you let out your true views about black men. Cus you know in real life people would give you :what::why::mjpls::ufdup::pacspit:

It's not just colorism that I am concerned about,it's issues black women face in general, which did indeed affect how I view the men of my race (which it should).
& Nope, I've had these conversations with real black girls in real life.& It's disheartening because I realize so many black girls my age are not socially aware. But I believe they are becoming woke.
