Sometimes that nikka on the other side won't like you.:manny:

If you're well prepared it should be fine.

One thing I dislike is though when I apply for like 5 jobs. Few reply, few interviews. 1-3 months later one of them reply and I'm like which one was it. :lupe:The interview like next day morning...

These companies got awful recruitment processes these days had a nikka doing a video interview with nobody on the other side and timing my answer to each questions nikka just call me. making me dress up in a suit to do a virtual interview on my smartphone:what:
Wow, that would be such an awkward and awful interview format.

Getting hired at my current job, TSA, was pretty easy. First had to do a simple grammer, vocabulary and x-ray image test. Then do my physical then waited for about a year for my background check THEN it was the face to face interview where I was asked 4 simple questions (what would you do in this scenario, etc) by this smiley old lady. She told me they'll call for my orientation a few days later. It was pretty easy, just lengthy.

Most difficult one is the one I'm going thru for CBP (Customs Protection) you gotta do a video interview where your responses are timed, 2 fitness test, physical, then a POLYGRAPH test :stopitslime: they lucky they pay nice cause this shyt ridiculous.
TSA officers have physicals :deadmanny: I can't count how many fat ones I've seen. Plus I hate the fact that they take glee in throwing away expensive liquor and stuff that's not allowed ---> speaking from experiencing it before.

Last time I interviewed for a job was around 2010. Now, i'm looking for new work and the most annoying shyt nowadays is how all employers do phone interviews ( or screening interviews) first, from the 15 dollars an hour job to the 40k+ a year one. 5-6 years ago, phone interviews were usually for highly paid salaried work or were very rare in my experience (I've been on over 40 interviews.)

Been on a couple phone screens for the past month and I've gotten no call backs. Either the competition is that fierce, or I'm rusty as fukk. Or maybe they're surprised that i'm black ( I have a white first and last name) and is on that :mjpls:.

What I hate most about the interview process is how lengthy the shyt is, how unprofessional it is and how random it all seems. First you have a long ass application you must fill out, then you get a phone screen, then a phone interview, then a face to face interview, then a waiting period. And often times, there's no response after you go through all of that. :martin:

I have another phone screen in two hours though, so let me get off this muhfukka. Hopefully the HR lady wont be on that bullshyt. :birdman:

You'll be alright, buy another one. When I said physical I meant like drug test, eye test, etc.

I hate when you must repeat everything on your resume.

Him -So you used remedy ticketing system at XOXOXO
Me- Yes I used remedy ticketing system

Him -So you installed kvm consoles , what type of work did you do with the kvm consoles.
Me-I installed kvm consoles on new and damaged equipment ?

I had an interview with a app/media company for a marketing position, I came all suited and booted as I was sitting in the lobby all these nerd hipster types walking past would look at me like :scust:. Even when the manager saw me he was like :martin:. The crazy thing is dude was asking me all these questions that had nothing to do with the position :why:, low key I think he was stealing my ideas because he would be like
deon-cole-take-notes-o.gif
then go back to :martin: needless to say I did not get the job as 'I was not what they were looking for'

Do you get nervous? What was your best interview and worst? Ever had to take a skill assessment?
Never had a "bad" interview, I dont get nervous, I get anxious, I go in like the jobs already mine & they wont take it from me... I murder interviews...

My high school focused on school-to-work training, we did mock interviews with actual company owners & got written assessments on performance & if theyd consider hiring us... I took what I learned & tailored it to me... Once I graduated I only took 1 L & it was my fault... The job I have now I had to do 3 interviews with multiple bosses & vice prez...

Hardest question for me is "What are your weaknesses??"

Most good paying jobs are gonna ask you behavioral questions for which there are four important things to include in your answer.

Situation

Task

Action

Result

Once someone taugh me the STAR method my interviews have been a breeze.

STAR Interviewing Technique for Behavioral Job Interviews | QuintCareers

It's also a good idea to have some answers prepared for the more general questions they may ask, alot of good examples to work off of are here

Sample Behavioral Job Interview Questions | QuintCareers

I usually interview about 3 times a year. I have a good job but I'm always looking for something better

No disrespectful extra but sound like most of y'all need interview training. This is coming from someone who has had experience hiring people.

oh god i've been to a couple interviews at them small start up media/marketing companies full of white people I know I have nothing in common with i could feel the :mjpls: tension in the room and knew damn well i wouldn't be getting a job. I'm going the consultancy/contract route so will be interviewing with larger companies that have a diverse range of employees so i feel more comfortable and less of the :mjpls:/:scust:when i step through the door saying im here for an interview.
